Vote with your wallet. The only reason they do this is to get extra money and it appears that it works. If the game is good, I’ll shell out some extra money and buy it. If the game sucks I won’t even bother. You can save up money and buy it, wait for a sale and buy it, or don’t pay at all and enjoy your life. You got options.

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion
The 3ds is dominating. As usual.
EDIT: Even if the Wii U does fail, as some people want it too, they do have the 3ds to fall back on. It's obliterating the opposition. The opposition aren't even close.

There's a mistake in this post. The PSP and Vita versions of Petto no Kanojo were flipped; the PSP version actually sold more. The real Media Create numbers have it listed that way, but the NeoGAF post made a mistake and flipped them.

Wow, 3DS is booming! Dragon Quest VII is already past a million in its first week, impressive. Nintendo is dominating the handheld market yet again which is impressive because the Vita is so much more powerful. I'm getting a Vita when Soul Sacrifice comes out, but I can't deny that the 3DS has some good stuff now and in the near future. I'm currently 20hrs into Fire Emblem and loving every moment; Castlevania is next, followed my Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Project X Zone, Mario&Luigi, DK Country 3D, and whatever is announced this year at E3. Can't wait!
