MediEvil’s Lead Artist/Designer: “Series was Never Granted Green Light to Continue in Future Games”

With Sir Daniel Fortesque featuring in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and Sony Cambridge having worked on a never-revealed project before Killzone Mercenary, rumors have constantly circled about a new MediEvil game being in the works. With a few hours still left before the PS4′s big reveal, we looked into whether it was still a possibility… and what we found wasn’t promising.

Aww, can't say I'm surprised though. Plus, Killzone Mercenary does look awesome.

It does look pretty great, though another MediEvil game would have been great.

Sorta related - Kaz in Daniel's eye just freaks me out. Seriously.

Edit - @Abash, I agree. How great would it be to have one announced tonight at the PS4 event?

We shouldnt give up hope for a new MediEvil, we should just bug Sony for one any chance we get

pixelsword4081d ago

Funny thing though; the voice of the Labyrinth in MediEvil is the same voice of Colonel Hakka and General Radec.

Sir Daniel Fortesque needs not permission to come back to life!

Snookies124081d ago

Yep, can't have original games these days... It's all about those FPS rehashes, mobile games, and social games. Pshh... I really hope next-gen will start pulling gaming back to what it was before smart phones and CoD type games started popping up.

alexcosborn4081d ago

Though, a new MediEvil wouldn't be original now, would it? It'd come in the form of a of sequel.

Snookies124081d ago

I just mean original series in general. I'm fine with sequels so long as they don't go too far with it. Most of the time when they start hitting numbers like 5 or 6, I think it's time to move on (in most cases).

Maybe someone will breathe an afterlife into Sir Daniel again next-gen, even if it's not currently in the works.

I can't wait to see which games are announced today.

Not to bad.

Gravity Rush 1 and 2 are amazing can you believe the guy who created Silent Hill created these.

PixelOmen672d ago

Gravity Rush 2 is probably the most underrated game on PS4.

DarXyde672d ago

Agreed. And it was definitely top 5 on the platform for me. Genuinely loved how charming the series is/was.I loved it so much that I Platinumed it twice (Gravity Rush 2 and its Japanese variant, Gravity Daze 2).
Such a lovely series. I say this once every 3 or so months, but Sony committed the gravest sin in my eyes by dismantling my favorite Sony studio, Japan Studio and I really had a hard time forgiving that.

Absolute classics, both Gravity Rush 1 & 2.
