Because if there's anything gamers want from Square Enix, it's more MMOs.

KrisButtar4081d ago

ya the only FF's i havent played where the 2 MMO's and likely will never play them, ive never liked the idea of MMO, i like my RPG's to be single player

FamilyGuy4081d ago (Edited 4081d ago )

I would love an online rpg, only negative about them is the subscription fee. In comes a game like white knight chronicles 1 / 2 and I'm all in. (free online play, not an "mmo" just online towns and quest, still has a full single player story line)

I'm one of the few that hasnt lost all faith in SquareEnix :/
Worse case scenario, they will still have outstanding graphics.

Let me guess a final fantasy and its 3 spin offs lol.

I see square enix slowly moving away from traditional console games and going more mmo and online flash games in next gen. They've been doing that for awhile already and I think they will contine that unfortunately.

Who gives a shit?

SquareEnix went from being one of the most important game studios at the end of the PS2 era, to one of(if not the most)insignificant gaming studios at the end of the PS3 era.

Just look at all the decisions they made this generation as to how a gaming studio shouldn't been run, unless you want to run it into the ground that is.

ToZanarkand864081d ago

Well said, they need to release FFX HD asap.
My Vita needs it!
Also, FF10-2 and FF12 HD would be cool with trophies...

izumo_lee4081d ago

There goes Squarenix again, announcing new titles before even finishing existing ones.

If they are gonna announce something make it so that the gaming public will not have to wait years to actually see the game at all.

Capt-FuzzyPants4081d ago

The title clearly says unannounced. So, actually nothing is official. And I doubt any of these rumored games would be developed by the team making FF14, Versus, LR, or any other team working on a major release. If anything SE is publishing these games. So you can't fault them for this when they haven't officially said anything at all.

DEATHxTHExKIDx4081d ago

NO MORE MMOS or Mobile crap. Just finish Lighting Returns and FFXIV, SOO u can put more work in on VersusXIII. THEN KH3 then get started on FFXV and FFXVI for next gen! Just Finish All current projects.

iWishTifaWasReal4081d ago

Lightning Returns shouldnt even exist at all.

heck, same goes for FFXIII-2 with that stupid & cliche cliff hanger ending.

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle13d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger13d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag13d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

Please o please don't turn dragon quest into final fantasy square enix we dont wont that. Dragon quest works well just as it I. Plus you'll piss off Japanese fans to.

jznrpg17d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
