Reasons I'm glad the Mayans were wrong

For some reason, the doomsday theory of late last year really had a lot of people on edge. I am sure there were people out there that didn't even get holiday presents, bastards, because they thought the Mayans circular calendar predicted the end of the world. Well looking at the games we have to be excited for in 2013; I for one am glad the end wasn't upon us. Here’s a couple titles scheduled for 2013 that you should keep an eye out for!

Well obviously, but that wouldn't make for much of a read ;)

The Mayans were not wrong, as they never predicted any sort of end to anything other than an era. Only the more gullible among us bought into the History Channel/internet hype that we were all going to have meteors rain down on our heads as our poles shifted on Dec 21 2012. A tiny bit of research into what they believed is all it takes to see how off the mark that was.

Thatguy-3104084d ago

Lol the Mayans never predicted the world will end. It was just idea of idiotic individuals. No one knows when the world will end and it occurs to people when there time is right. But I'm glad that now life has moved on passed that idea and we're able to enjoy many great upcoming projects.

ravinash4084d ago

I'm sure that that if the Mayan civilization was still around, they would have either added to the calendar, or more likely, started the calendar cycle again.

It's a bit like saying the world will end on Dec 31st 2013 because my calendar on my desk finishes on that date.

Did anyone really think that???
Some places were gearing them selves for mass crowds waiting for the end, and no one turned up!

thorstein4084d ago

They are still around. And you are right, they never predicted the end of the world.

Some people are just idiots.

Snookies124084d ago

The Mayans WEREN'T WRONG. Man, did nobody even think to check and see what the ACTUAL story was about that? They said it was the start of a new CYCLE. A "CYCLE"... It means it starts anew and keeps on going from there. Nothing was supposed to happen in the first place... No apocalypse, no doomsday, nothing of the sort. I couldn't help but facepalm every doom article that came up at the end of the year...

zerocrossing4084d ago (Edited 4084d ago )

I know right? That information was there, openly available for those of us not too busy building doomsday shelters out back.

People buy into this doomsday nonsense way to easily almost every damn time!, the one that really gets me is people misusing the word "Apocalypse" do people know what it actually means? Googgle it, it's more a long the lines of a great unveiling or something previous unknown being brought to light, not at all connected to the end of the world but more to the end of an era and the starting of a new.

skydragoonity4084d ago

The mayans smoked lots of pot obviously

KillrateOmega4084d ago

1) We're still alive and thus still able to game.

dazzrazz4084d ago

Obviously Mayans were not predicting end of the world it was the end of their 13th calendar cycle -baktun- but why would anybody know that, majority of the world jumped on the end of the world bandwagon 0_o

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing692d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy852d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius1d 18h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
