Bungie's Destiny May Be Coming To The PC After All

DSOGaming writes: "Bungie plans to tell Destiny's adventures over a 10-year period. But what about a PC version? Surely this kind of game should be coming on our beloved platform, right? Well, all hope is not lost everyone. During the game's reveal in Bungie's Bellevue, Washington office, Bungie COO Pete Parsons said that there is a high chance that Destiny will be coming to the PC."

I hope it has cross platform play

matrixman924077d ago

in the IGN stream, they said that Bungie definitely stomped down the possibility of cross platform...but they completely dodged the question of ps3/ps4 and 360/nextbox cross play

Mainsqueeze4077d ago

I'm pretty sure it will have cross generation play between ps3/ps4 and 360/720. The only reason they dodged the question is because no next gen consoles have been revealed yet.

as a Hardcore Enthusiast PC Gamer I somehow still see Microsoft paying Activision to make Destiny a Xbox Exclusive. Microsoft has already snapped up rights to get Destiny content first and when the game is complete MS may just take the next step.

Bungie = Microsoft's Exclusive studio FOREVEVR!

If Destiny does come to the PC then get in line behind all the other 100's of AAA MMO's we got coming out.

If Destiny does NOT come to the PC then it wont be missed because of all the other 100's of AAA MMO's we got coming out.

it's just that simple!

Letros4077d ago

It will likely have to be separated from consoles due to the advantage of a mouse, but that's ok, PC has a huge MMO playerbase.

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4077d ago (Edited 4077d ago )

Best version. Because of M/K..

I like my DS3 but M/K is just better for shooting.

Orbilator4077d ago

Hmmm unreal tournament 3 had a mouse keyboard option for ps3 version who his how I played it. So your argument don't hold water . its developers that need to implement it for ps3. Can't imagine it being to hard

Pandamobile4077d ago

Okay, well, UT3 was the only game to ever use that, so I don't know why you guys keep bringing that up.

if it's MMO it will be stupid to not put it in PC. there's no Piracy in MMO games

Fyflin4077d ago

Glad to hear. I'd still love to see cross over play between xbox/ps3/4 and pc, especially since the world is supposed to develop constantly. Does this means the world will be slightly different on each platform?

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter324d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell324d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig324d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast324d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g324d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka324d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai475d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface474d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard472d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
