So of course we have seen Mario time and again, but I must say if people are complaining about originality in games then they might need to find a new hobby. I love games and play on all systems, but Sony has no room to talk. For all the new IPs Sony releases, most of them have game play comparable interactive movies take from several media before them. I mean don't get me wrong these games will look great and most likely have good stories, but slapping a beard on Nathan Drake, giving him a sidekick and putting him in a survival thriller must have taken all of 20 min to come up with (The Last of Us). Originality doesn't sell games regardless of how much people claim they want it in new IPs. If it did then Pikmin would probably be one of the top selling games of all time. Just enjoy games because supporting this hypocracy (even though I doubt Sony actually came up with this) just shows how much gamers have become disconnected with having fun altogether.

I don't know what game you are trying to compare sonic to (possibly iNinja?) but regardless you're getting right at my point. The Mario games (the 3d ones) do exactly that, build on the game engines. Each one is a new experience based from familiar settings. They are not exactly original just like Sony's Ips that do clearly take concepts from other games and movies as well. Just about all of the most popular games take things from other sources which is why complaining about Mario games is pointless, because most games now are not original. That doesn't mean we shouldn't play games or embrace the differences that are there. Just that you can't just call out Nintendo when they are clearly not the only ones doing it in some form or fashion.

There was definite arrogance, but they had to say something to justify the cost. They charged what they did because of what was inside the box. They had already subsidized the cost of having a great quality (at the time) blu-ray drive and Cell had to cost them more than say what was driving the 360.

The whole cockiness thing didn't lose them marketshare this gen. It was launching last out of both their competitors, not being ready with a high quality online network, and a poor marketing effort. The supposedly 'balanced' media chose sides very quickly, and were possibly responsible for some of its downfall too with all the crappy quality articles full of claims that turned out to be lies. Yet, they still sold 70+ million consoles, the PS3 was the fastest selling console of this gen, and they released some absolute belters in games.

Microsoft came hard and fast this gen. Sony rested somewhat on their laurels, but you can tell they're not going to be making that mistake again. They're gonna come at the market with PS4 with a force I don't think most of us expect from them.

Well...to be fair Apple also poked a lot of fun at MS as well, to the point where it just wasn't funny anymore. Also people need to learn how partner companies or adverts work altogether. Every person blamed Sony for creating that promotion recently but Sony didn't make the promotion directly. You can even email the company that did and they will gladly explain to you how it all works.

Could it be that maybe it is some advert company that is partnered with them, very well could be but as I explained that doesn't mean Sony or anyone at SCE directly created those.

These advert companies make money by getting support from companies like this, that is what I tried to explain with the Amplifinity (that everyone assumed Sony made) promotion that came out recently for getting a friend to buy a new Vita and then you get $20 PSN cash.

The more people that use these adverts and promotions ect. In this instance for these little mobile ones, when people click on them, they make a little money. Simple, just like any other advertisement you see on the internet, it may not even be through that company directly but someone somewhere is making money by advertising for that company.

If anyone has ran a blog, or at least a decent one. Sometimes you will have companies simply ask you to directly advertise for them, they then pay you every time someone clicks on them. Google has the same type of program.

I used to run an old blog with a friend and we actually had Domino's Pizza contact us about that. So we advertised for them for a while just make ad's or using the ones they gave us and just having them on our site generated us money from Domino's as long as their name was seen and that ad was clicked on it meant we made money.

Did Domino's make all the ad's we used, nope sometimes we just made some stupid flash ad's of our own. As long as we stayed within the guidelines we made money off them.

Your second paragraph could have gone for ANY of the consoles, and honestly doesn't need to be said. We don't know the price, but it's not likely to be much more than $500, at best; if it had everything else you wanted but was $499, would you not get it?

And let's be real: NONE of the consoles will block used games. That's probably the dumbest rumor to start up for generation eight. What, you're gonna bring up the patent Sony filed? They certainly made prominent use of the last such patent, filed before the PS3 launched, right? Oh, wait...

Backwards compatibility is up in the air. If it's not too expensive, it'll probably be in there. They could, however, come with two models: one WITH, and one WITHOUT. Honestly, they could do a lot in that respect. PS1 is almost a given, and PS2 emulation might be rather easy with the PS4's power. If it doesn't have PS3 compatibility, will that be a deal breaker? Even if it's got multiple games you want, isn't more than $400, and doesn't block used games?

I cant really afford to pay $500 apiece for two new consoles, I don't know much aside from the rumors, so I'm intrigued by the reveal. no but the only reason there would be targeting them is cause they already got a lead on sales it makes since and personally i dont think sony is that worried about ms since ms is going with "mulitimedia" instead of focusing on core gaming. thats what made them good thats why people buy gaming concules is to play games. ms i have affically finished with them i was going to buy next gen xbox and ps4 but now its just ps4 and maybe wii u if they get any good games out by then like zelda which is a awesome game cant wait to see what they do with that but other than that just ps4

lol..i dont blame sony, they came in last this generation so they are fighting not to come last next generation too...but judging by the lack of improvement base on their controller alone, i wouldnt be surprise if they are destine for last place again especially if the psvita is any indication
