Five Underrated Games That Should Have Gotten More Love

MouseEatsCat writes:

"Game development is a slow, sluggish process. But when a game is made, most of the time it’s made with love and care and a lot of effort. So it’s not nice to see good games go by almost unnoticed. I’ve decided to compile a list of the five best fairly recent underrated games that went unnoticed when released."

I did not/ do not understand why so many people liked blur i thought it was not very good as for the others i cant say anything. though i was hoping MAG would of been on the list was playing it last night nice to see there is still a community playing the game after so long and despite its lack of reception!

I loved blur. It had loads to do on the single player, and a good online system. The courses were varied with locations a little different to most racers. Also to top it all off it was very pretty with laser beams and disco light streaks chasing after people... That and it allowed me to drive a rat look beetle :)

I hope that helps you to understand at least why some people may have liked it.

OOG4080d ago

agreed blur was awesome

EbeneezerGoode4081d ago

Agreed. Blur was awful. Truly a terrible game. If was nowhere near the developer's previous efforts on quality nor gameplay.

If anything BLUR was over-rated. Big Time. It was really messy looking, and totally non-fun to play.

Hicken4080d ago

I had a VERY different opinion of Blur. I thought it was an excellent game. Had lots of fun, and wouldn't mind a sequel later this gen or next.

FaSCoRP4080d ago

Blur was good. The point is it was hard, some people does not have the guts, patience or skill to keep up. It was a Bizarre game, you have to be skilled

EbeneezerGoode4080d ago

Really? So that's why I absolutely LOVED PGR3 is it? Blur was nowhere near the class of PGR3 and that is why it failed for me. The cars felt weird, the tracks looked cartoony, the over bright neon mess of pick ups were ill considered and immersion ruining. It was TOO arcade for it's own good.

FaSCoRP4078d ago

Well but Blur never tried to be a Racing Sim, it was like a Mario Kart with a nice graphic engine a more "not so kart" handling.

EbeneezerGoode4078d ago

well maybe it SHOULD have tried to be more, it's poor reception showed it didn't please many people but I'm happy if you got fun out of it. I believe they could have done a lot better based on their past games.

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend56d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long56d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons56d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor56d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5256d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60255d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor56d ago

Terry_B56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Sweet. I loved Liberty City Stories despite the city being empty. Those main story missions were tough but fun.

Both Stories games were far better than GTA 3 IMO, VCS being the best and most enjoyable though.

It’s sooooo janky but the story is so good and the agent is so quirky I loved it thouroughly, the story is that good that you can actually make it through all of its jankiness and issues .
It’s a diamond in the rough and rough is saying lighly.
This game deserves a remake out of any game I can think of .
If they fixed the combat ,driving and movement this would be one of my favorite games all time and it already is in a way.

After10Ben425d ago

The first time I turned on my flashlight was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a game. His suit just sort of lights up. There's no physical flashlight in his hand--hilarious. It's also the only game I've played to truly capture the delightfull quirkiness of Twin Peaks. I'm with you on how much I like this game. Despite all of its flaws, it's a genuinely fun experience. "My coffee warned me about it," is probably my favorite line of all time in any video game.

I still haven't played the sequel, but I will some day.

shinoff2183425d ago

I enjoyed this back during ps3 days. I'd buy it again if they re released it fixed up a little. I had fun with it.
