A 1 out of 5 suggests a game un-playable and broken...I am sorry that is not the case with this game, and it doesn't deserve a 1. I think reviewers are being overly punishing to this game based on their own personal hype train and let down for the game.

Apparently most devs are pissed that the actual game doesn't live up to the demo. That this is a case of massive misrepresentation.

At the site we do not reserve 1/5 scores for games that are unplayable or broken (though certainly the reviewer would argue it is each in equal measure.) A game can be functional technically but wholly uninspired and terrible in other departments, from art style to story to level design. Whether or not other reviewers were hyped for the game I cannot say, but we try to go into each review of ours with an entirely open mind.

With as terrible as this game is, I don't know how they were even able to afford a commercial on TV for it. This game is a huge embarrassment!

SOOO glad I cancelled my pre-order for this. I saw some gameplay a few days before it released, and my "Spidey Sense" went off, telling me I'd experience major buyer's remorse if I bought this game. I love the Borderlands franchise, or I'd just say "F U Gearbox", and never give them a second thought.

That's funny. I watched the two hour live stream of A:CM a week ago and it made me want the game when I really didn't want it before, despite being a fan of Alien 1, 2, and 3. I bought it and I'm having fun with it. All this has done is to make me think I may never read another review or look at another review score.

Roundtable: Games That Should Have Received a Sequel

Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
