I just don't see how they can do BC without having a chip. At least when you have a disc. If its something you downloaded then they could use Gaikai to look at your account and stream the games you've bought. However, I (like many ppl) have a lot of disc based games that I'd want to play everything on one platform. We'll see though.
I would buy one, and then i could get rid of 1 out of 3 ps3's i own.
