Most Wanted on Wii U is based on the PC version

Write Trigger writes: "The Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted is based on the PC build, vice president of Criterion Games has announced.

Speaking with GamesRadar in a recent demo, Alex Ward noted that the Wii U version will feature a "notable increase in visual quality" over its console counterparts, largely due to its superior memory and more modern GPU architecture.

Uncharted 2 & 3 are better than Uncharted 1. Grand Theft Auto 3 is better than the first 2 GTAs. Super Smash Bros Melee is better than Super Smash Bros. Little Big Planet 2 is better than Little Big Planet. Mario Galaxy 2 is better than Mario Galaxy 1. Mario Kart 64 is better than Super Mario Kart. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is better than the first 3 Call of Duty games.

In videogames, there's countless examples of sequels that trump the first game on everything. Because of this, that "originals of everything are always better" argument is simply not true.

Ive seen a screen shot and it looks more realistic thats for sure,but i thought it might of been a bullshot now it's been confirmed i'm pleased with EA.

i've tried the PC version once from a friend. to be honest, I did prefer the original Most Wanted because somehow I liked following the story a bit. the new one by Criterion is focused more on racing, cop chases and story has been sidelined (is there a story at all? -- sorry, but I decided not to get this, so my playing time from my friend's is very, very limited).

but this is good news for Wii U owners at least. so I hope it does well. and if the previews are good, maybe I'll change my mind about getting this after all. coz i have the need for speed.

Actually if anyone watched the video, he states that the WiiU version recieves the fixes that plagued the previous 360/PS3&PC builds.

While I have no interest in this game, i'll hand it to the debs for going out of their way for the Wii U version, unlike most developers so far. People have this impression that the Wii U somehow can't handle last gen games, when really it's incompetent devs rushing their ports. So hopefully this changes that perception.

Also ports of games that wouldn't even have been possible day 1 on the 360 or PS3, it took 8-9 years of optimizing to get them to this point. But that's just pointing out the obvious, so I better keep my mouth shut otherwise I will be labelled as a fanboy.. ;)
