There is seriously no good PR coming out of this. Do they really think this is going to be a good idea in either the short-term or the long-term?

Jobesy4084d ago

There is some good PR. The game is getting more attention now and I'm starting to feel bad for the devs. So much hard work put into getting a game finished only to have it delayed. I hope they don't find themselves out of work for speaking out though.

Genuine-User4084d ago

Ubisoft will never show the door to Ancel. He's the genuis behind Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil.

ShinMaster4084d ago

They should protest Microsoft's policy instead.

MmaFan-Qc4084d ago

Ubi wont release the game on wiiu then release it again on other plateforms, they wont put efforts in marketing the same game two times only for butthurted peoples, its a buisness, not a fan cock stroking service.

admiralvic4084d ago

@ mma

They released origins at 5 different times in the past year, so why is twice unheard of?

the shadowy money hungry people behind this decision should be shamed. if ubisoft cared about all this they would fulfil thier purpose of giving the game to Wii U owners. Disgraceful if ubisoft dont do this.

hano4084d ago

On the contrary...this is great PR.

Plus, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Anyway, if the game is not released soon, I don't think many will buy it on the WiiU.

Baka-akaB4084d ago

It is a grea idea for them to display their discontent . It ensure some of the most annoyed people wont be boycotting the game and the wii u version , and thus punishing a dev team that wasnt at fault .

ElectricKaibutsu4084d ago

This is pretty crazy. People say Ubisoft made the right business decision, but good decisions don't receive backlash like this. Good decisions end with customers buying a product they want and the company making money. As of right now Ubisoft is zero for two.

Also I don't think good business decisions get petitions that are signed by (as of right now) nearly 10,000 people: https://www.change.org/peti...

The game being released on 360 and PS3 is a good thing, but regardless of what console you own or prefer, Wii U owners were promised that they'd have this (pretty much completed) game by the 26th of this month and what's happening is not fair to them or the developers who worked their asses of to have the game ready by this time, plain and simple.

jakmckratos4084d ago

Lol they were promised another demo this month..as if that tides people over for 7 months. Ubisoft made an awful decision. I don't have Wii U..I don't want one and I dont even think Id get Rayman Origins anyway but this SUCKS for fans and the Devs who've been working since before last E3 overtime who want to spend time with their children and families or otherwise get some deserved R&R.

Nevers0ft4084d ago

If Ubisoft sticks to their guns and releases the Wii U version alongside the 360 and PS3 versions, effectively letting the title gather dust on a shelf for seven months then I won't be buying the game on principal irrespective of how good it is.

LOOK_AT_THIS_I4084d ago

Agreed. It sucks that these guys are actually sticking their asses out there in support of us who were anticipating the game. The publisher is making a big mistake and unfortunately these same guys who are somewhat fighting for us are going to be the ones who suffer. I'll say again ill pick this up used from gamefly or will ebay it. Shame cause this is one of the few titles I was looking forward to this spring.

Munnkyman4084d ago

It really sux for them. To put so much time into creating something and just taking it alway t
Hurts

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos50d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B51d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos50d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger51d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos50d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell

Rayman Legends - 10 Years of Legendary Platforming

Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.

HankHill233d ago

Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.

Venoxn4g233d ago

Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still

Outlawzz233d ago

Loved this game but wish they would create a new Rayman 3d game.
