IGN - Do we already have a shining example of what Zelda HD could be?
"Dark Souls: Archthrones is like playing a brand new FromSoftware game, and that speaks volumes about just how much good modding can do," says Hanzala from eXputer.
Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way. Why?
i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)
I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
TheGamer writes, "Some weapons resist the test of time."
An interesting article. I love Dark Souls and I can almost see where the author is coming from with the co-op and exploration aspects, but really they're just too different.
I do however think the next Zelda should mix thing's up a bit, maybe try some new things, make puzzles and combat a bit harder and get rid of the side character telling you what to do all the time whether you want help or not...
Of course only IGN could write such stupid article first Zelda is a game for little kids and Dark Souls is a game for adults full with blood and violence i don't think Zelda game for little kids can take something from game like Dark Souls
Honestly,
I hope that they get away fromthe "Items" as keys mechanic in the NEXT Zelda. SS did this and it is one of my favorite Zelda's but
When I was playing both Zelda: TP and Metroid Prime 3 (alternating) it got on my nerves how I could predict what weapon I needed to find next.
So, I just hope that Nintendo goes beyond even the 1st Zelda and makes ALL dungeons and Weapon Accessible from start.
If you want to go straight to Dungeon 8 to get that weapon, you can.
No you can't open that door but if you bomb every wall you will find the secret paths that will get you to the room where the weapon is.
But on the way be careful- if the enemies detect you- or if they hit you once- you WILL DIE.
Or if you lose your balance (like Skyward Sword) once you will die and won't be skilled enough to catch yourself.
This is what I want, allowing us to make our on difficulty.
