I watched the part 6 of a walkthrough on YouTube and apparently, they tried to create a scene where you're practically naked (no guns or motion sensor) and are trying to run away from a xeno that's chasing you like the way Queen chased Newt through the small crawlspace under the floor in Aliens. But the thing is, this one just randomly pops out of a hole or destroys a part of the wall, comes out, screeches and then gets back in without doing anything, which immediately killed the feeling of authenticity for me. I mean if it was happening in the movie, the guy would've got ripped to shreds since xenos don't play with their preys that long but just wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. They should've just done what Monolith did with Aliens vs. Predator 2 and used the environmental elements to scare you off (like a small pipe suddenly bursting during a tense moment, etc.). Also the introduction of new Alien types feel tacked on at best. At first it was fine to see new additions like the rammer but the "blind sewer Alien" they introduced with the full game is just pathetic.

I really hope these reviewers are just being harsh and the game isn't as bad as they say. I've been waiting for it since it was first announced. I love the movies so if this disappoints i will have to light the torch and pull out the pitchfork on Gearbox.

This was my most anticipated game of 2013 and I can honestly say it is absolutely terrible. I know people are being overly cautious thinking "The reviewers are being too harsh!" but honestly, it's an absolutely terrible game in every single way.

I am with you there as well Nitro and first. I have been waiting for this game for quite sometime. I am a huge fan of the alien universe and I have seen every movie including that pseudo prequel: Prometheus and my favorite movie of the franchise is Aliens.

So, of course I am going to check out what's what for myself, but there is this unsettling feeling that Gearbox may have done something like Duke Nukem again. Well, I'll get my copy sometime later this week and hopefully I will have some fun with the game and a few of my friends *crosses fingers*

I have been waiting to long myself and really wanted this game but once I had seen the first two chapters on youtube I will pass.I cant believe how bad the aliens looked and how they just jump down and pretty much let you shoot them withought any movement.I love this franchise but my god Gearbox needs to stop taking over games that are shit and stamping there name on it to sell it or at least take some time and work on the game more.Now they destroyed Dukenukem and aliens.

From what ive seen of the game play. It looks awful, Just watch the first 20 minutes.

Terrible voice acting, game play and the first alien encounter is just dreadfully anticlimactic.

The worst part is for most of the game you are fighting humans.

It seems like they have ticked the box to every cliche in modern shooters at the moment and then put an Alien skin over it and then did a poor job in general.
The Alien franchise deserves better than this and I don't understand why it's so hard to make a good Alien game. I'm a huge fan of the movies and it looks as though this game will just be another disappointment.

I finished the game this morning (ps3) and i can confirm this game is a massive letdown i was really looking forward to it being a huge aliens fan.The story is a joke,the AI is pathetic,it has more bugs than EDF:Insect Armageddon! The graphics are extremely average looking only the sound and lighting are any good.You can walk straight through your squad mates which is just bizarre,aliens are not scary all they line up in front of you and pop like balloons,the weapons sound good but have no real "punch" or impact to them.The ending is a mess.

im not one bit surprised at the reviews, stupid publisher move by sega not to release this game last year in 2012 when the hype was at its max. from what i saw in the gameplay videos last year, looked very repetitve & redundant, just like the article said. The graphics are last year, there was no way the gameplay & graphics could carry this game as a stowaway into 2013.

What was Sega thinking?, I have no idea but its a typical miscalculation by another uninformed japanese company. I dont think its total garbage, but reviewers were expecting more from a game pushed back so far it landed into 2013 with the big boys( bishock: infinite etc) ,will mostly appeal to hardcore alien fans at this point, the casual gamer has a very short attention span , in order to get them to by in you have to take advantage of your games hype, like a fall/christmas release 2012 wld have been perfect.

The hype for this game expired last year 2012. The casual gamer has move on, there attention is elsewhere, SEGA overestimated the interest in this game, its not Bioshock: infinite or GTA V, now only core Aliens fans are left in large part, too bad, will be $19.99 on Amazon.com b4 you can blink. Bad for publisher, good deal for consumer, I'll pick it up at $19.99 or less in a few short months, looking foward to this game at the right price.

Wow i %ucking knew it!!!!!! Check my comment history. I told everyone this game would be super hyped mediocrity like Duke Nukem was!!!! Nintendo fans especially were hyping up this garbage because gearbox said it would look better on the Wiiu and they thought this trash would be a new graphical benchmark for consoles smh how more wrong could you have been!!!!!!

Bottom line i did research and saw videos of ppl previewing it and they all said the same thing. A generic shooter, terrible character animations, dumb spongy Al, and nice backdrops that look kinda fake because of their shininess.

However as usual well known sites that previewed this game omitted such issues and hyped this up to death along with the devs smh. I say %uck what devs. say and most well known webistes because they just cannot be trusted!!! Everything is about money and free copys of games. And like i say taste is subjective but blatantly not mentioning glaring issues in a preview and just hyping games up because of a company name is not whats up and it happens all too often. These reviewers and previewers also tend to not stick to a standard on some reviews of more popular known releases but keep a strict standard on other games and down vote them to death.

I keep telling these fans and especially these Nintendo fans stop listening to everything these devs say like Gearbox they are just stroking egos to sell games and in the end will under perform. zombi u was another such case.
