Wii U Excuses Have to Stop

When the concept of this little article initially popped into Nathanial Rumphol-Janc's head it was a rather one-sided affair. He wanted to address excuses the industry may likely be rationalizing themselves with in order to not properly show support for the Wii U. However, as he was gathering some information to create this piece he came upon a rather interesting revelation: The Wii U fans need to stop creating excuses as well.

LOL, good luck with that.

Generally I find that the excuses only seem to come about in doom/hate articles or comments. So a good way to stop the excuses is to stop the doom/hate articles and comments.

@ MasterCornholio ass and taking names later. going forwar the ps3 is actually the worlds second best selling console. Butt I do agree that it's kicking ass and taking names later. I think that going forward companies will and I hope not rely on on hand me down games to sell but original games.

I bought my wiiu on day 1 still love it and I have only bought one game zombieu. But I bought the game based off reviews from people on amazon they loved the game and I see why. With that being said there does need to be some key things pointed out.
1 No I will not buy a football game with missing features.
2.No I will not buy a game with horrible frame rate issues.
3. No I will not buy a game
you rushed out so it's looks bad while others look good.
4. Also what the hell is up with giving us 1 year old ports at a higher price.
5. The thing that's top on my list there were games canceled by developers and not picked up by publishers that have not seen the light of day why not release those as original IP's.

Yep those are my reasons for not buying third party games.

Starfox174089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

I just think 3rd partys are willing to support a dying Sony console but not a Nintendo console thats selling alright but just needs real support,it's like 3rd partys are banking on ps4 and 720 being a success ? what if they fail to pick up will they all flock to Nintendo ? i mean they cant keep assuming Nintendo will fail when we all know they wont it's like a conspiracy against Nintendo all Nintendo need to do is keep bringing the 3rd party exclusives like Beyonetta2/X/LegoCity,yes Nintendo are developing that title with TT games, and Wonderful 101,ect,then with in house studios like Retro ect i'm sure 3rd partys will flock when WiiU is dripping with higher quality games ie mainly because 3rd partys havnt flooded the platform with CRAP.

MasterCornholio4089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

"I just think 3rd partys are willing to support a dying Sony console but not a Nintendo console thats selling alright but just needs real support,it's like 3rd partys are banking on ps4 and 720 being a success ?"

The PS3 is dying? WTF

1: 3DS - 169,183 (+1%)
2: PS3 - 106,882 (+4%)
3: X360 - 75,643 (0%)
4: WiiU - 37,755 (+10%)
5: PSV - 25,916 (-2%)
6: PSP - 24,694 (-7%)
7: DS - 22,855 (-6%)
8: Wii - 21,477 (-17%)

http://n4g.com/news/1171093...

The PS3 is the worlds top selling console with over 70 million PS3s sold world wide. And the PS3 is doing well in terms of software sales.

1: (PS3) Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - 175,428
2: (X360) Call of Duty: Black Ops II - 91,611
3: (PS3) Call of Duty: Black Ops II - 84,955
4: (3DS) Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 65,785
5: (PS3) Far Cry 3 - 50,462
6: (PS3) FIFA Soccer 13 - 50,075
7: (X360) Far Cry 3 - 47,461
8: (Wii) Just Dance 4 - 46,223
9: (3DS) New Super Mario Bros. 2 - 43,687
10: (PS3) DMC - 43,266 (3DS, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360)

So how is the PS3 a dying console when at this moment the Wii U is doing much worse than it? I know the Wii U is a new console but theres no way thats its doing better than the PS3 at this moment. Maybe in the future once Nintendo gets the games that gamers want on the system it will start to sell well but before that happens the Wii U will have to deal with sluggish sales and an abysmal library like all new consoles.

fatstarr4089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

I think he meant the vita. and hes correct devs flipped the wii to the doomed consoles section till it was selling like hotcakes, then every 3rd party dev made some trash game to get a quick buck on the wii.

and whats funny is that the devs that didn't try made more money than the 3rd party devs that tried and cared. Nintendo never was sony/microsoft and come 2014 when other consoles are in this very predicament (historically consoles dont sell q1 and q2 in comparison to q3 and q4 sales) I bet we will see a world of excuses...

honestly its just the video game cycle. once e3 comes things start moving.
Nintendo 1st party
New Zelda
Super Saiyan retro studios
new super smash
suda 51's projects
Monolith Soft
what ever is announced at e3

and tons more devs are on board. I have a wiiu, wii, ps3, 360, 3ds I can bear the wait for some awesome Nintendo games. its not that critical.

and real talk the wii has a lineup of like 14 games and only 5 of them are worth while if you are 18+.

linkofrs4088d ago

@MasterCornholio
You are correct in saying its not dying but, the last of us Is going to pretty much be the ps3's peak potential. We need a new console generation because without one games will continue to look the same. Never the less I imagine the ps3 will probably be doing well until at least Christmas.

Shnazzyone4089d ago

It's a nice article. Makes a good point, we should simply stop bickering. Just wish journalists could cut down on the failure talk. I don't understand how it can be a failure when it's sold more in it's first 6 months than 360 did in it's entire first year, You can say the same about ps3's launch year too. It's a new gen. Gamers need to be patient before jumping to conclusions and noone should be wishing negative results for any of the big 3 companies. Without all three we don't have the options we have now as gamers. We should work on respect across the board.

Nintendo forever doomed since the 80's

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

Exactly!

X-Box and Playstation have always been better than Nintendo even way back then (in the 80's).

And don't get me started on Atari Lynx and Sega's Awesomeness!- I can't wait to see their new systems this E3 =-D.

Edit: do I and the poster above have to write "/sarcasm" - think about it.

(Yeah, I saw what you did there.)

"Well Said" at Fluffy!

JKelloggs4089d ago

Playstation and Xbox better than Nintendo in the 80s? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Playstation and Xbox weren't out in the 80s?

classic2004089d ago

Your were born the other day

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4089d ago

@JKelloggs
@classic200

Lol- Why do you reply to me if you haven't bothered to read the full statement?

multipayer4089d ago

The joke is that he was using sarcasm to dismiss all the doom and gloom articles. Fanboys liked that. The next dude took the joke even further specifying that the situation was identical back then. It obviously wasn't, so the whole thing collapsed on the fanboys trapping them under piles of their BS. The end.

I think id software should make a game called, Nintendoom.

LOL_WUT4089d ago

"We may rage over Rayman Legends, but the actual intent to buy crowd probably doesn't even break the 50,000 mark, which only further proves the point that the games aren't selling."

"Games like Madworld seemed rather brilliant, but it's abysmal sales have lead to it being a one and done game. The fact they didn't try to bring it to other consoles could simply be an indicator that they lost too much money on it to afford such an endeavor"

"In the end folks, lets stop making excuses for why the Wii U should get support. Us just saying we want it isn't going to cut it"

Well said and good read. ;)

ElectricKaibutsu4089d ago

"Logically we could say that Nintendo has been at this for over 25 years, so the only for sure thing you can state is that they can and will prevail. So why not support the only system you know won't go away?"

"The third party publishers also need to stop making excuses. They need to realize the potential of a market they are missing out on..."

I agree. Good article.

medziarz4089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

there is no potential market for their games - that's the point! the annual CoD and AC doesn't sell to Nintendo people.

linkofrs4088d ago

@medziarz
There is also a point to that being that Nintendo isn't trying to just satisfy the Nintendo gamers. They're trying to back to the good old days where all gamers played on their consoles. Honestly I'd like things to go back to when gamers were gamers, not Pc/Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo gamers.

fatstarr4089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

I agree with those statements, not just for Nintendo but universally for all consoles in the video game world

things are hyped like they should be million sellers but in reality they don't even break the 500k marks. the way I see it us commenters , videogame news checkers and forum runners are the 10% of the videogame industry , we are the ones with the voice. usually when speaking we are talking for similar enthusiasts like ourselves, and not the brain dead casuals. I have seen it time and time again, so proudly hyped and abysmal sales. something has to change $$$ talks.

honestly we need to move away from the world where 500k is a failure, everyone cant be a call of duty or a pokemon or a halo. devs should see this. if the future of videogames is to change.

Theyellowflash304089d ago

Madworld was not that good. would have flopped on ps360. No more heroes flopped on the ps3

N4g_null4089d ago

Nope mad world was only slightly angry meh. No more Heros slaughtered it along with the second red steel actually being good.

Also I havnt seen one excuse that was not used for the ps3 or Xbox.

For some reason it is ok for Sony to not release hardly any games along with ms. Maybe it is because third parties actually try on those systems. Reguardless I'm having fun on the wiiu. Nintendo land is a huge game though. I already have a back list of games yet I'm still halfway thur nintendo land, Pikman's later stages are sweet! Metroid is also lots of fun. It would be very cool if nintendo gave us addons to Nintendo land that where like demos of up coming games! I havnt even touched Mario 2d hardly. Zombie u needs some attention too. Yet I'll be beating asscreed later, may or may not buy batman.

The main problem I have with the last two games are mechanics that are boring.

I'm thinking developers are relying on graphics way too much.

bothebo4089d ago

It's pretty sad how badly Nintendo has botched their releases in the past 10 or so years. I can't say Sony has done well either, but they seem to be setting up the PS4 with an amazing launch line up, so we'll see what happens there.

phantomexe4089d ago

I think saying nintendo is doomed or saying they screwed there release up is a little premature. Never count nintendo out as most gamers should know by now. They didn't get where they are makeing misakes since the 80s. A little common sense right?

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

-Foxtrot54d ago

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos54d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B54d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder54d ago (Edited 54d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos54d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger54d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos54d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell

Rayman Legends - 10 Years of Legendary Platforming

Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.

HankHill236d ago

Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.

Venoxn4g236d ago

Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still

Outlawzz236d ago

Loved this game but wish they would create a new Rayman 3d game.
