Retailers Break Aliens: Colonial Marines Street Date in Australia

i haven't seen a lot of ads for this, i have high hopes but someone who got the game accidentally early from store said it was pretty average

I've seen a few impressions from people online who got it early (aka pirated the 360 version) & the verdict isn't good...I guess we'll find out on the 12th!

yeh i am interested but if that's the case than this will join the long list of games i will wait for in a bargain bin

i am not sure about MGR, kojima production doing the story has my interest but the demo really didn't sell me on the combat, here is also hoping for that to turn out better than expected

Ive been playing it for a few nights, and to be brutally honest its just average.

Co op campain its decent, single player campain is a bit dull.
not many mutiplayer maps at launch.

but im a big alien franchise fan so i have had some fun playing.

If you have a bad connection, it plays like crap on mutiplayer.

hope this helps a few of you, I wouldnt pay more than 20 quid for it. Pay 20 quid you will probally get your moneys worth.

I have a feeling this one will end up as just a mediocre as the last sadly. About as far back as I remember playing a good Aliens game was at the Arcade.

I understand what you're saying here. It sucks. I hate DLC, and microtransactions. They make being a gamer pretty crappy.

That said, I wish these publishers and developers would (or could) figure out a way to make developing games less expensive.
When these guys put hundreds of millions of dollars on the line for a game, they really don't have any other options, you know?

if the DLC is cosmetic to the character (like in Killing Floor) I don't mind paying for it, since it doesn't affect other players.

What i do hate is DLC maps that you pay for, or modes.. that completely alienates (excuse the pun) other players from joining those maps or modes. That just ends up splitting the game into 2 basically.

If everybody just stopped buying dlc they would stop making it. Simple. Same as if nobody buys a xbox720 because they can't resell their used games then Microsoft will stop selling consoles that screw over the public.

Trouble is there is always too many people who don't mind been totally shat on by big corporate companies who put their shareholders before their customers.

Funny just like I said prior to release (read comment history) this game will be over hyped mediocrity like Duke Nukem previewers had to many glaring issues with it such as terrible character animations, spongy robotic al, backdrops that were albeit beautiful but shiny and fake looking and it just being a generic shooter. As consumers speak more issues are popping up such as huge screen tear smh.

To be honest the ppl really hyping this mediocrity to death were the wiiu faithfuls because gearbox said it would look better on wiiu and they wete hoping for this godsend of a multiplat game that would show its nxt gen capacity. Sadly just like zombie u this is not the game.

I really think they got very very lucky with borderlands 1 since there is basically fuck all loot based games on console....

Yeah and even so I wasnt a borderlands fan, however I undetstood why ppl liked it.

I always go into games with an open mind but research before I buy them. Alien colonial marines is such case in which I watched preview vids on youtube and saw ppl complaining about the spongy enemy al and terrible character animations but then you had other website previewers not even mentioning it and that raised huge red flags for me. In the end those video previwets wete spot on based off whst consumers are saying.

Its sad that alot of these sites and previewers seen to be biased or just bribed somehow and exclude some glaring issues out right when previewing certain games for certain companies and hype those games uop like no tomorrow when they,arent that good or have big issues.Taste is subjective but not the standards you review games on and I see ppl stick to a standard of reviewing games for certain titles then throw that standard out the window and critique certain games less when its coming from a certain dev. Smh.

IGN ran a 2 hour live gameplay walkthrough recently, what I saw impressed me enough to get this on release day. Sure their are better looking games...it aint no crysis 3 ...but the gameplay is exactly what I wanted
