Gamers Are The Ultimate Trolls

The last time I wrote a game design document – for Gears of War: Judgment – it was well over a year ago. So I kind of forgot how it feels to work on one. This past weekend I have started writing a new document, for The Astronauts’ first project, and it all came back to me. The excitement. The despair.

Not what the article is about...

fei-hung4092d ago

no we ain't, journalists are. We troll out of passion, you get paid to troll! you are professional trolls for hire :p

Tetsujin4092d ago

Please read the article first, the title isn't about what you think it is.

For those who did read the article, that Skyrim video gave me some ideas...

Personally I have no interest in reading the article thanks to its sensationalist headline. Really there was no need for that if the article is well thought out.

I write for a small site which I won't divulge the name of because I'm not here to give us a boost or speak for the entire team. But I will say that this sort of headline is the exact reason I write. I'm sick of seeing this sort of stuff. Journalists ARE trolling the community with headlines like this and it's disrespectful to their audience.

Tetsujin4092d ago

I agree 100%; sometimes it's to fuel fanboy wars, boost site hits, and to get a good laugh.

I will say though it's rare for me to read something like this, and after reading it outside the headline it does have some interesting topics brought up that a lot of gamers do; however with a title like that, do you blame the one submitting or the one who found/posted it?

OccludedGamer4092d ago (Edited 4092d ago )

In this case I would actually blame the source since it is their initial headline. However TheAstronauts.com turned it into a much more presentable piece.

But although I would blame the source, I would have to level a certain extent of that blame at TheAstronauts.com for continuing with the same headline when they could have changed it to something that isn't as provocative while portaying the same idea, which I think is a shame considering the writer clearly put a lot of thought into his work.

I loved A Short Hike, and want Firewatch.

Nacho_Z489d ago

Firewatch is one of my favourite games. It was ages ago that I played it but I still think about it, one of those that sticks with you.

What Remains of Edith Finch is brilliant. I would also add Inside to this list.
