I’m Not Mad, I’m Just Disappointed About Rayman Legends

I had the privilege of checking out the game at E3 last year and writing an extended hands-on preview of the game for a recent issue of the magazine. Rayman Legends is one of the games I am most excited to play this year, and I am happy that the available audience that will get to play it has effectively tripled. I didn't realize it was a 7 month delay. That is terrible. They should of released it on Wii U and then released it for other systems when the port gets finished. Why do this? This is the crap Square did when they ported the Xbox version of FFXIII. Also, 7 months? So it will launch on Wii U and also on the PS4? That will make the Wii U version look double worse as it's getting released on a potential system that will be possibly 5 times as powerful. Ubi did this wrong. Wii U now. I love Rayman Origins. I have no problem waiting. Not fair to Wii U owners at all.

I think it involves Microsofts policy about them being able to deny a game being made/released (forget the exact wording) if there is no simutaneous release.

"Titles for Xbox 360 must ship at least simultaneously with other video game platform, and must have at least feature and content parity on-disc with the other video game platform versions in all regions where the title is available," it reads.

thats pretty bogus too.. Im sure this gen wouldve had MUCH more content on PS3 had that policy not been in place.. "protecting inferior tech" is what sony said if im not mistaken.. I hope next gen, publishers say eff em if they try that crap.. & tho i prefer PS3 over wii u, i still wouldve liked to see this game release on time.. Thats the one game that made me want to buy the thing.. Now i have to wait forever to get something i want for it.. I might sell it to be honest.. @ least for a year or 2 & more good exclusives i want are released

I know, it's absolutely ridiculous. A lot of people are assuming that Wii U owners are just unreasonably angry that the game is not going to be exclusive, but really people are just pissed that they're going to have to wait another half a year to get a game that was originally in the "launch window," because Ubisoft lied their asses off.

I mean, I own all three systems and I'M a little pissed off...

Why not give it a Digital release on the WiiU?

In that way, it will only be available to the fans and the Hardcore.

That will lessen their shipping cost and they won't have to advertise for it Twice.

When they release it for all Systems then they can ship it out in Box form for WiiU as well.

They could use the Digital sells to fund the TV advertising.

by the time the game launches on PS3 and 360, it would feel like an "old" game, which is understandable. i guess that justifies a simultaneous launch, even if it sucks for the wii U owners.

the stupid thing was announce the game as a wii U exclusive in the first place, especially when you know that Rayman Origins came on all platforms imaginable.

im glad its coming to my platform of choice anyway, cant wait for it. Origins was beast!

If you JUST finished purchasing a system and one of the games you were looking most forward to was 2 weeks from release, then they pushed it back 7 months just so it could get a multiconsole release...youd be mad too.

I am quite certain NO ONE is angry about the cross platform news, but they're angry about how they handled the game / situation. Even plenty of people that don't own / won't support Nintendo agree that they should have at least released the finished Wii U version first.

What is the big deal? Rayman origins came to ps3 and 360 so why can't legends do the same. I would say it isn't fair to those people who played origins first on ps3/360 and now they would have to buy a wii u just to play. Ubisoft is doing a smart job here.

Well the way I look at it they would have been a go to game of sorts.
But here's what needs to happe.

1. Nintendo needs to step up and push to get pikman or 101 out as soon as possible to stop the frustration.

People need to calm down because what's done is done. If company believes it can make money by sending out the same produt they will and they know people will buy it.

As many people who are showing there displeasure there will be many more who don't get there info on the website. They may not even be aware the game was coming out. Hell there was no advertisement. So they won't care they'll just buy it. This is why ubisoft doesn't care.

1) You do realize that some people are ACTUALLY just interested in Rayman right? The fact there isn't much else to play is just a bonus in their favor...
2) People are angry that the pretty much complete Wii U version is getting delayed... Why do some people not get this? No one is saying Ubisoft can't make more money, they just want the nearly complete product. Similar to when Sega delayed Anarchy Reigns (don't argue about popularity please). The game was 100% done and Platinum even said they weren't going to add new content, yet people in the US / EU had to wait 6 months to get a game they could have shipped whenever they pleased.
3) Rayman Legends was marketed, like every Wii U kiosk has a demo of it for anyone to play. Sure there weren't commercials, but Origins didn't get a lot of promotion and they probably didn't market the game because they were planning on going multiplatform.
4) You understand how word of mouth works right? Like Street Fighter X Tekken bombed because of the on disc DLC, which QUICKLY became common knowledge. Also according to twitter when this news hit, Rayman Legends was the #1 tending topic on the site... people have 6 MONTHS to spread hate about this game. Unless you live under a rock, you're probably going to hear something if you're a gamer or just know someone that is a gamer.

Since you decide to missunderstand what I'm saying let me explain. I have a wiiu its my only gaming system. Just so you know my dedication I got rid of my ps3 and wii and take a chance on a wii u. I got rid of those systems not because there bad systems but rather because I wanted something new and different. But for people like yourself who come on here and get offended because other people see or don't see ubisoft stance on delaying there game.

I feel your pain but respect my oppinion because that's what it is my view.
With that being said I'm not blaming ubisoft no matter if there games are on time or late they still support nintendos systems. Yeah there going to make money off of wiiu owners but they have an oppertunity to make more off ps3 and xbox owners. Plus its nintendos fans that have caused this issue I bought a lot of games for the wii but I can tell you not a lot of people did.

My point is instead of getting mad push nintendo to give us something fresh and new. If you have guest at your house and your hosting a party is it there resposibility to supply the food and drinks?

My point is we bought nintendos system and they gave us literly 3 games but are ubisoft and others responsible to make the system go nope it on the big N you can hate me ubisoft or like them but they can abandon the wiiu altogther if they want.
