SuperPhillip Central writes, "The news of Ubisoft of Rayman Legends going multiplatform, but most importantly, delaying the finished Wii U version until September, shook the gaming world. If you could sift through the editorials claiming the Wii U was now most certainly doomed after only three months on the market, or the arguments between console warriors on various sites, then you could see just how crappy this decision actually was, for gamers and for the developers of Rayman Legends, and why you shouldn't think of boycotting the game despite this maddening news."
Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?
We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.
Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time
Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.
Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.
Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".
No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.
A decade on from Rayman Legends' release, it remains a near perfect platformer, so what happened to Rayman? Will we ever see another sequel?
Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.
Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.
Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still
It's great news for PS3 or XB360 owners but sucks for Wii U owners especially for those who brought the system for this game. Hope the Wii U version gets some extra content to make up for the delay.
It only makes sense if the 360 version uses smartglass and the PS3 version uses the Vita for touch screen parity.
These developers should go and form their own studio or join Nintendo that would speak volumes and teach Ubisoft their not bigger than the people who actually develop the games without them ubisoft are jack.
From what Ubisoft has stated, there release of the 360 and PS3 versions will in no way impact the content of the Wii U version, which is still getting its extra touchscreen and co-op features as planned.
So why on earth should Wii U owners care about this announcement at all? It just means more people get to play the game, but 360 and PS3 owners will not get some of the extra Wii U features.
Rayman Origins sold a lot more on the PS3 and 360 than the Wii, so I can't blame Ubisoft.
