PlayStation 4: we’ve been waiting two decades for this

PlayStation 4 looks set to happen sooner rather than later. Brenna looks back at a brand that grew up alongside her.

Good article, the title doesn't sound right though. Probably if the author put it out as "two decades has come to this." could be more suitable.

gamingmaster20134086d ago

yeh when i read the title i was like 'wtf? what about the ps1 ps2 ps3?' and then i read it more carefully and now i understand it. however i am sure that other n4g readers would misinterpret the title and go crazy

There goes I love sony and will sale my soul for it. Sony PS1 AND PS2 were a miryad to the game industry, while ps3 and vita are less than stellar. I like my PS3 and vita, but lets be honest, tough competition has taken away what sony onced had and today we are looking to a trouble sony corp., but none the less, I will continue to support them. God bless sony, viva sony and then I comeback down to earth and say we are in trouble. I only have a PS3, vita and 3ds, Im poor, but I know that Sony gaming division its not thegreatest anymore.

Highlife4086d ago

There gaming division is just fine. They put out great games year after year. Sony's problem is they don't know how to advertise. There comercials don't showcase the games and that is if you even see one.

Ripsta7th4086d ago

@ HIghlife i dont think is that fine if their profit was only 6 million for their gaming division, compared to Nintendo and MS they should be doing better than that

Clarence4085d ago

Sony has the best gaming division out of the 3 consoles on the market. They seem to introduce a new franchise game every year.

some boat here. Tittle makes no sense.

RuperttheBear4086d ago

You're right, tittle makes no sense at all.

This article is an excellent reflection on the purely emotional value gaming can have. In the face of growing anti-games movements from world governments it is a breath of fresh air to hear about the positive influence gaming can have on a human being.

The video games are a little part of our lives... not our lives. A man with the money to travel and buy every game system and he lives depressed. Hey bro go to these beautiful countries, explore, enjoy, make friends, have sex and live the reality because you have one life and no continues o checkpoints. The video games are only a hobby.

dalibor4086d ago

This is true. Plus video games help people not do hardcore drugs to a certain point. Movies, games, music helped me not do any of that crazy sh*t. Not that I haven't tried lol. I do still smoke some weed from time to time but not even that much to be honest. Games are always looked upon as a negative thing but I'd rather be gaming than joining a fracking gang or getting in trouble and ending up at the pound me in the *ss federal prison(office space) haha. Just my thought.

wishingW3L4086d ago

This woman's obsession with PlayStation is just plain scary. She's as crazy as that Patricia from Kotaku....

dalibor4086d ago

All of us humans are crazy somehow, someway. Some just show it more than others.

izumo_lee4086d ago

It's not that wierd though. All of the console makers have die hard fans that at times take their passion a little too serious.

I share a similar take on the effect Playstation has on personal life as well. Started gaming on the NES & had some great times with Nintendo hardware best moment is finishing Final Fantasy 2 (4). However the PSone was the first console i bought with my own hard earned dollar & as soon as i put FF 7 in the tray i knew it was well worth it.

Ever since than it has been nothing but great memories being a Playstation supporter. Sure there has been rough moments here & there but for 15+ years there has been more good than bad, despite what game journalism has said about the brand.

Donnieboi4085d ago (Edited 4085d ago )

Playstation is the only relevent brand right now if your a core gamer. So yeah, if u love games, u love playstation. It's not a mere preference, it's only because core gaming is up against the wall while casual games are unfortunately getting more focus. So we cling hard to whoever defends true, hardcore gaming. Sony just happens to be the only one doing that (and Valve). M$, Apple, Nintendo, Android, Flash games etc only care about casuals and it's important that core gamers show support to those few companies that support OUR preferred way of gaming.

So in Sony, we trust (for gaming). If Sony betrays the core in exchange for casuals, then I'll move on elsewhere. Perhaps a cloud service or something. But i'm no fanboy, I just like Sony as long as Sony is focused on the hardcore.

Npugz74086d ago (Edited 4086d ago )

I own a PS3 and 360 and ended up using the 360 more this Gen. I'm only getting one system next gen and for some reason the PS4 just seems to grab my attention more. I play the hardcore games more so maybe the PS4 will be the best for me!

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

Dragon Ball FighterZ's Rollback Update Was Too Little Too Late

Daniyal from eXputer: "Dragon Ball FighterZ was so close to a revival but ineffective communication and a dubious launch of an anticipated update botched that hope."
