Do you Think the PS4 Will be Out in 2013?

Now in our second week of asking PS4 questions, we’ll be moving away from the price and onto when we’ll actually see the new console. With a big press event scheduled for February 20th, it seems like a 2013 release could be a major possibility, but all the same, we asked the PSLS staff: Do You Think the PS4 Will be Out in 2013?

I don't. I think there's still plenty of life in the PS3, especially with the software lineup incoming.

The software lineup is exactly WHY I think it's coming in 2013. Every major PS exclusive that is announced is releasing in Q1/Q2/Q3 2013, and we have no word on what other studios are working on. Guerrilla, Sucker Punch, Polyphony, ND's other team, Sony Bend. The only thing we've heard about those studios lately is rumors, and what do those rumors include? Next-gen. I just feel like the schedule is too barren for the last quarter and the details on studios too sparse for it NOT to be the next-gen release window.

it will be out this year and i cant wait to buy two the first second theyre available. itll be out this year because people have been waiting for next gen systems and ps4 will answer a lot of prayers.

The PS2 still had a pretty good lineup when the PS3 came out.
This shouldn't be a reason to delay the PS4.

I sure hope it comes in 2013. I know we are getting some great ps3 games this year,but I desire new ways to play my games too. Hopefully the next gen introduces new ways to play our games, because frankly i'm getting bored.

Its funny, I heard rumors its Supposedly releasing in Japan in 2013. U.S and Europe spring of 14.

I read somewhere else it was suppose to be released in U.S and japan in 13 and Europe in spring?

Awww these rumors. I personally think it will, considering all these supposed leaks and rumors. But I do believe it could get released as late as Spring of 14.

So yeah, I can see it releasing in 2013.

Just because the PS4 is coming doesn't mean the PS3 is just gonna be ditched. We have seen this last gen. The PS2 got plenty of games during the early years of the PS3 and Sony only recently stopped production on PS2's. No reason to believe they won't do the same with the PS3 once the PS4 comes out.

now nothing is confirmed till it actually happens but it would be a HUGE blow to sony if after all this hype they don't atleast talk about what PS4 will be like.

but like i said anything can happen, just imagine if sony shows more content for PS3 and drops the price maybe $50-100 and just says this to finsih the evening, we will talk about ps4 at E3

it would be a funny day on gaming sites if they don't talk about ps4 lol. a part of me actually want to live through that day sadly lol

Personally I dont want ps4 yet...im honestly very happy with my ps3, the thing has good games coming out and the do fimware and system updates regularly...

I agree with this except the Nintendo part. I really don't think that the release of the Wii U will have any bearing on the Next-gen of Sony and Microsoft.

They wont release console this year same as xbox 720 wont ge launched this year,
simply because they like to announce there new systems first.
They also like to show case the kine up of games have interviews threwout the year gearing everybody up till the launch date also allowing developers time making games ready for launch.
Nope i geleave we get confirmation at E3 with hopfully a realese date but it wont ge this year i dont think.

The ps3 still has life because the amount studios devs first party games on sony's platform so in theory just that alone ps3 could go another year or 2 if they wished.

Totally agree. PS4 will be out in March 2014, probably in the last couple of weeks in March.

Sony will need time to air their b/s videos of the system apparently running games in real-time. Remember all the pre-rendered videos Sony showed before the PS3 release?

Too many rumors from too many reliable sources coinciding with Sony's 'The future of PlayStation' thing that they are inviting investors and press to and streaming it live.So if it is announced now it will most likely come out in late November/early December.

I think a fall 2014 release sounds nicer but signs point to this year. Yeah nothing may be announced for the end of the year but maybe those games are something that could be announced Feb 20th or E3. It just seems like too short of a gap between announcement and release to me. But what do I know?
