MP1st | Crysis 3 Multiplayer Beta Impressions

MP1st - "The Crysis 3 multiplayer beta is live and is here to stay until the 12th of February, one week before Crysis 3 officially launches on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 19. What do we think of it so far?"

I love the controls on crysis three. Also the the multiplayer is enjoyable. I haven't been playing black ops 2 because of crysis 3 beta. It will be a day 1 buy for me.

joab7774097d ago

I remember when crysis 2 launched and they said it used all of the ps3's and xbox's power and that it was the best looking console game. I wont compare it to uncharted but it disnt even compare to Killzone 3. I think the lighting masks alot of issues on consoles.

Anyway, crysis 3 seems to be what crysis 2 should have been. Tighter, cleaner, built for pc, and it is very similar. It actually feels like a mao pack or something. I just wish they coulda held out for 6 months and launched on next gen. I love pc but most if my friends play on ps3. I have seen the difference and it absurd. Its like the console is really cloudy.

Skate-AK4097d ago

But then they can re-release it on PS4 and 720 and say "Remastered in full 1080P HD."

N0S3LFESTEEM4097d ago

This game has the same bland gameplay they've had since day one but with all the eye candy that graphics whores demand.

Reverent4097d ago

As much as I HATE to admit it (considering what crybaby A-holes Crytek has been) the game is actually pretty fun. I've gotten quite addicted to the Hunter mode.

This is one of those examples where I really enjoy the game, but I can't stand the developers/publishers. I had the exact same situation with Capcom's Dragon's Dogma.

Anyways, as for the graphics, I don't see what all the fuss is about... They really aren't even that great. Crytek needs to shut up about them.

hiredhelp4097d ago (Edited 4097d ago )

considering what crybaby A-holes Crytek has been
Have they ? Crysis 2 they gave more attention support to console gamers did as much as they could with there engine.
While we PC Gamers had to wait for the HD texture pack to be realesed with dx11
BUT what some fail to realise is thats not the devs fault they do what they get told Fact.

That said because the PC Gmers voice there anger alot turns out crysis 3 will be more PC This time.
Ive had crysis 2 on consoles loved the graphics but maybe cos i love there engine since cry engine 2 crytek also gave console players a chance to play first crysis witch was awsome had to be sorted optimised for consoles but still they done it they gave back.

However recently past year crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. Has been running his mouth doing more harm than good with silly statements but lets not forget he is only a CEO not a dev these guys that should be had ago at not devs.

Reverent4096d ago

They are crybaby a-holes because they pass the blame of their own insufficient programming skills onto the console's limitations, and even then, they for one, stated that Crysis 2 was using every tiny drop of power the Xbox and PS3 had left, then nope, now Crysis 3 is; a game probably much more optimized (so it should ACTUALLY be using less power than C2, even though they said the opposite.)

What you fail to realize, is that Crytek will blame anyone else for their own shortcomings. (That's the crybaby part).

Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, they constantly bragging about how powerful their games are, and again, this isn't even true if you look at some of the much better looking games out there, that are also much more massive. (That is the a-hole part)

Ripsta7th4097d ago

Graphics arent that great but the gameplay is improved from Crysis 2, im enjoying it so far :)

SolidDuck4097d ago

Ya I'm sure it's amazing on a high end PC, but console version graphically isn't anything special.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled136d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa136d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno135d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac135d ago (Edited 135d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast135d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial135d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!

Yep. Wait a couple of years and get this level of performance on a RTX 4070 or 4080 at a much lower price.

Killer73nova1283d ago

And wait a couple more years for rtx 5070 or 5080 at a much much lower price

Yung-T1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

That headline is a tad misleading.
The rig stated in that YouTube video is extremely high-end (ryzen 3950x oc, 32gb etc) and utilizing special water-cooling solutions, loops with pumps etc.

This rig easily costs 5k+ and a normal pc with a RTX 3090 wouldn't get close to these framerates or sustainable temperatures.

Aggesan1283d ago

Who has a "normal" pc with a RTX 3090?

Yung-T1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

There's still a difference between a high-end GPU+CPU and a custom-made water cooling system including a Waterloop&pumps etc though, it allows for much higher performance due to the better temperature management that would fry the GPU&CPU with normal builds.

lonewolf101283d ago

That's why people need to read the articles, most headlines are just to get you to click.

Rainbowcookie1283d ago

You would think yes, but honestly does it happen often 🤣 enough

I_am_Batman1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

Most of the threads of the 3950x were barely utilized and none of the games that were tested allocated more than ~12.5GB of system memory. Gaming at 8k is pretty much as GPU bound as you can get so you won't need a water cooled high-end CPU or 32GB of memory.

Psychotica1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

How does the cost of the PC make the headline misleading?

Father__Merrin1283d ago

Mega powerful video card but the games you can play on that card are all available elsewhere. I want to see compelling pc only goty material titles ASAP

Psychotica1283d ago

And where else can you run them in 8K or even in 4K with the same level of performance?

averagejoe261283d ago

Who cares? Nobody has 8k screens and the majority don't even have 4k screens.

This push for pointless high resolution is ruining progress. Give us better framerates, lighting, physics, etc. Stop wasting power on needles 8k.

lonewolf101283d ago

@averagejoe26

There are people with 8k monitors though.

Bender65021283d ago

And still we can't escape 30fps.

JCOLE131951283d ago

I mean given the fact the games are running at 8K it doesn’t surprise me...

MrDead1283d ago

DLSS 2.0 no doubt has a big part in this too, The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding run like a dream on my 3080, 4k ultra set to 60fps no drops or stutters and the system runs very quiet. Playing Borderlands 3 on badass settings, Red Dead or Division 2 on 4k ultra all run great (Red Dead has a few drops below 60fps) but my PC is working a lot harder on games that don't utilise DLSS, my room warms up nicely when playing those games.
