I can't believe ps4 is coming! I remeber N64 and remeber how real I though wwf smackdown was on ps2! Now we get ps4! Great time to be alive no matter what platform I am sure we will see games that we can say "This is the best looking game I have seen in my entire existence!!"

And most of all I am glad the company who support core gamers the most is taking the initiative like a boss.

CraigandDayDay4099d ago

Sony is being super smart this time and getting the jump on announcing their next console. It's gonna be just like the Vita conference 2 years ago where they showed off the basics, but no price point. They might give off the specs, though.

shivvy244099d ago

Sony learnt from their mistake, what held the ps3 back was the huge price point, low exclusives early on and releasing 1 year after xbox2 , this time they have fixed this and now going in with a lower price point and great exclusives, free online, sony will dominate !

subtenko4099d ago (Edited 4099d ago )

Sony has proven they can bring out great titles no matter if they release first or last. I just don't think they will show a big leap in graphics AT FIRST like the jump from ps2 to ps3 tech demos. Anyone else feel this way?

Maybe it's because we've seen great graphics all this gen but will they show as something that makes the ps3 look like crap just like the ps3 made ps2 look like crap? I think it will take awhile. Thing's the will be showing off is the power, how it can multitask and stuff. ie. LBP 3, it will be hard to overload the level creator meter. Thoughts?

SandWitch4098d ago (Edited 4098d ago )

Well, Watch_Dogs @ 1080p/60fps makes pretty much every PS3 game look like crap (except a few heavily optimized first-party titles like TLOU or Beyond).

Thatguy-3104099d ago

The hype for this has honestly blown the roof. Think it just goes to show how desperate most ppl are for next gen consoles. To be honest I feel the same way I felt when the ps1 was announce.

Neixus4099d ago

want more hype? my speculation.

As far as i know, i may be the first person to find out something like this..
Watch the teaser, now, what is the theme of it? Blue glassy thingies, yeah.

Now look at this site, which Sony bought up long time ago http://gaikai.com/. tell me, what is the theme of that one? Blue glassy thingies.
If you click ''About'' on that site, it says that the future is bright, and the teaser sony released, was named ''See the future''

me think two things:
1. The ps4 overall theme, is that blue thingies, and they will announce the ps4 at 20th
2. as they said ''see the future'', which can also mean that they will announce gaikai, and save ps4 for later.. (GDC) But then again, ps4 is future aswell, everything is future :<

juandren4099d ago

I saw everything you mentioned lol. It's actually quite obvious in the video. My thoughts were just this - what would Sony have to announce about Gaikai that they couldn't just put in a report or a blog even?

FarCryLover1824099d ago

Gaikai is a big thing, but that is definitely not going to take place on February 20th at a press conference where all the press and investors are.

But we all know what cloud gaming is, the PS4 is what is deserving of a big press conference.

Knight_Crawler4099d ago

7 years a gen is overkill if you ask me - the standard should be 5 at most.

I was really really considering ditching console gaming for PC gaming if Sony or MS did not announce the PS4 or 720 this gen...hopefully these rumors are true as I have been a console gamers my entire life but I will not play on 7 year old hardware anymore.

Its gotten to a point that I do not get excited about games anymore...A new God of War and Gears is coming out and I should be hyped but I am not and not even thinking about purchasing them because lets be honest here apart from adding a little more eye candy what else can developers do with limited RAM.

Conzul4099d ago

Oh, you know....tell a story, or something like that.

I_am_Batman4099d ago

I'm not desperate at all and to be quite honest I didn't even care that much for next gen cause there are so many games I missed this gen so I need some time to catch up. But after seeing the 'See the Future' teaser things have changed. I can't wait too see the PS4 now.

Neo-Axl4099d ago

In respect of your comment, This should be used as the PlayStation 4's start up screen.

I love that they have a picture of the president of Sony in the background

Timesplitter144099d ago

I can't wait to see what funny memorable moments the PS4 unveil will bring. I'd fucking fall off my chair if they announced a racing game for PS4's launch and then Kaz Hirai barges onto the stage and screams "It's RIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER!"

eyeDEVOUR4099d ago

hell i hope not.... the ridgeracer that launched on ps3 was just embarrassing...

now a new Rage Racer or Destruction Derby would RAWK!!!!

TheFallenAngel4099d ago

I can't wait to hear about PS4. Will go to the midnight launch!

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing692h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing691h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos7h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto6h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger886h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
