Capcom released "too many" Resident Evil titles last year, admits Revelations producer

Capcom released "too many" Resident Evil titles in the "last year or two", Resident Evil Revelations producer Masachika Kawata has told VideoGamer.com, admitting that the publisher has learned that "putting on a lot of titles [does] not necessarily win over gamers".

Just bring back the old RE titles, remastered HD, trophies, etc. That's all I'm asking for Capcom please.

JeromeNtheHouse4100d ago

Seriously!!! Scrap the over-the-top nonsense in RE5 and 6, and get back to business. Make it scary and bring back the survial horror aspect...It's that simple.

Capcom is just...hahaha (can't even find the words to describe them) If anyone can think of some words to fill in and describe Cap...I mean Cashcom, please feel free.

b-b-b-but....Capcom was trying to make a Resident of Duty for ALL US MURRRICANS. Cuz 'Duty' action games gets teh money.

this is a call to all Japanese devs and publishers; please return to what you do best - to your classics and fundamentals that made RE and RE2 so awesome and thrilling (silent hill too). that made Shadow of the colossus and FF7 so intriguing and captivating

Kojima is the only one who still does a very decent job. MGS5 is going to amaze us like MGS4 did for me anyway :)

i dont know if that's the best thing to do i think they should forget about those and try to go back to the roots with the next one. You can play RE in HD on your PC with Dolphin emulator for Wii and Gamecube. i did that and i replayed them from 1 to Code: Veronica. Pure awesomeness!

They just need to give the fans what they want; it's that simple. We don't want unlimited ammo, health, and data saves.

AllroundGamer4100d ago

very true, and every company that doesn't respect that is going down hill, just look at Square Enix...

TheEnigma3134100d ago

Square and Capcom has fallen way off this gen. Hopefully next gen they get back to what they're good at. And I hope this on disc dlc stops.

Too many and 2/3 of them REALLY subpar. 1 that was pretty good

"Capcom released "too many" Resident Evil titles last year, admits Revelations producer"

That's a lame excuse, it wouldn't matter how many Resident Evil games were released if they were all actually good games.

I really enjoyed Revelations - and, yes, even Resi 6...

TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Well, this is neat. As the name suggests, Wrath of the Mutants is the rarest of things – a genuine arcade conversion. With most modern arcade games being ticket redemption machines, this is something seldom seen. In fact, the last arcade conversion we can recall was Raw Thrill’s own Cruis’n’ Blast on Switch back in 2021. This is also based on an older iteration of TMNT, harking back to the series from 2012-2017. It’s essentially breaking franchise continuity (we’ve had two different iterations of the Turtles since) and could even be considered nostalgic for a select few – those who grew up with 2012’s Turtles are probably in their late teens."

It must be frustrating for these devs to see Helldivers 2 absolutely devour their lunch lol

VenomUK2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

-Oh my God, this game looks like a complete rip-off of Helldivers II!

-At least it gives Xbox players the chance to experience something similar to the PlayStation game!

Jokes aside it does make you wonder why Sony, who owns the IP for both, is continuing with two products when there is such overlap. Should it one day make a new Starship Troopers film or a Helldivers film instead?
