this game is a technological marvel and through its realistic graphics, sound, animations, physics,lighting,and dialog between the characters its able to tell an amazing story that is more engrossing that enhances the experience. this would be a different experience if the characters and world were cell shaded or more cartoony with silent characters that are more robotic in movements with static objects.

to second guess the decision of getting a ps4 first day or at all would be silly if youre a gamer who appreciates quality video games.

Agreed, you're pretty much guaranteed great quality with PS4 just from all the first party studios alone. Sony is doing it right by betting on exclusive titles. Instead of all that timed exclusivity bull, Sony tries to let devs create new games.

well gow 3 was a awesome game in his time....the graphics of this one...well r very similar to gow 3...and we talking bout a 3 years old game...
i watched all the video..and yeah seem cool..unless im feeling the graphics too old...right now...i start to hate 2d backgrounds...and when also theres something cool ...like the moving planes/ground ..in the boss lvl......there r very few objects on the screen (the rest is a gradient sky and a 2d background)..to maintein the two main characters (kratos and the boss) in all their beautyness....

sorry but pc graphics r destroying everything coming out LATE this gen on consoles i still hope for the last of us (also if im 90% sure is same lvl of uncharted graphic witha different plot).....im waiting next gen and i think u should point to that to

and like @g-nome said..gameplay talking..ok we can talk for 4 hours about grapihics and stuff but really if u jump from minute 3 to 6 to 15 ecc ecc ...seem always at the same point....he trowing his chains.......they could improve something leaning stuff from naughty dogs..in how they diversify the actions in the game..but is still a buttons marathon

ps. well but for a game going out when in 90 days next ps will be presented............is always something good ...so... better than nothing

mentioning PC on a ps3 exclusive anyway. You're comparing 2006 hardware to 2012-2013 hardware. Are you kidding me? I've owned every GOD of War since it's release on the ps2. I guess we should all skip on Last of Us or GTA5? PC is still treated like the red head stepchild. There are few, and I mean a very few, PC titles that warrant investing in a PC. Besides when all is said and done, the developers try to get it to consoles anyway (Metro2033, Crysis, Witcher 2). If that is what you choose to skip on it, then that's fine. But don't try to force your decision onto others "...i think you should to". Especially when your reasoning is because some cloud in the draw distance isn't volumetric.

Gow 3 could be a benchmark graphic on console...also if i think that is just a devs choice ...also gow3 ...a game that i find marvellous ..i notice that devs dont push the enviroments in any way closer to other games out there...that look at first view less impressive. Compared to what games r today....he will come out not in a good way ..if u benchmark it....resolution/gfx/aa/textur ing talking.....Cmon probably SW1313 is already done and is just waiting the console come out....is that the lvl of the gaming that we need and want today

@FunkyT Town_TX i played every gow...and i find them fantastics also coz u know i live in a city where we still got greek temples...and i love mythology..plus i love the way how devs dont try to hide..blood and violence in this games. my opinion dosnt regard anything if not the graphics....i like gow seris

Is just what i was saying...we can talk about how much we love this game....we can talk how much Kratos is a badaaaaaaaaaassss.....but still talking about graphics on this gen... when we have sk card that put out more than x15 times the power of the entire ps3 sound ridiculous to me. Probably somone donst play anthing else that isnt a console or i dont know and understand why ppl still get this excited about this graphics

ps. i know already that the story on console games r most of the time more deep and "beauty" but this dosnt mean better graphics

I went over the top a little bit. You don't seem like a bad guy. I'm ready for next gen too. But I'm not going to skip on some of these games that are being released late in ps3's life cycle. If you remember, God of War was release late in ps2's life cycle and it turned about to be a stellar IP.

Except that's not at all what you said , you were quite specific in your old post . You were trolling hard and got schooled by the posters about it .

I agree with you that the hardware is definitvely outdated and we could see better , but the way you go about it is kinda how it looks , pure trollism . No reason to act so jaded and refuse to talk down quality when its there . Decent pc rigs could do what Gow pulls out better , but you wont see many games even attempting half of what it does on a design and tech level.

I think that the whole point is that they were all dicks of various degree and levels , Kratos included .

The most honest chars like Hercules , Perseus or Theseus were still morons blindly following orders from dicks , for glory or whatever reasons .

Looks alright. The novelty just is not there anymore. Some of the animations during the boss fights are getting tired (although they did try to come up with a couple more original ones). At least it seems that they are trying to make the QTEs a bit more subtle, which can't hurt.
Close range combat also looks a bit more dynamic.
There are some moves like bashing an enemy against the wall or throwing them away, but it seems restricted to certain combat postures, and I still wish there were some more environmental interactions to liven up the action a bit, this weird disconnect between the characters and the backgrounds is a bit underwhelming in this day and age.
There's some of that artificial and scripted feel as well, with the antagonist popping up at regular intervals to taunt the hero from a distance.
The story intro feels a bit inconsequential, and I hope the plot won't be stretched as thin as in that other prequel Ghost of Sparta, where turning points were few and far between.

I also thought that there was going to be a bit more freedom in camera control in this one, but the movie doesn't show it.

The moving setting was pretty cool, it feels like what they said the titans of GoW3 would be (but weren't) with the game world being shaken up and turned upside down.
It remains to be seen how many such moments the game packs.
Overall it's very much on par with what one could expect, but the large scope still manages to make quite an impression.

God Of War 3 raised the bar and still does, my jaw fall off my face every time I play God Of War 3!

Absolutely unbelievable graphics and cool design but I'm just so burned out on God of war, especially with this being the third prequel.
