I'll be hated for this, but Dead Space was always very scary to me and I couldn't beat it. I enjoyed 2 more because it was more action-oriented and less repetitive, and the coop aspect of 3 makes it a must-buy for me.

I don't think there is anything wrong with diversity and they already explained that they had to show action oriented gameplay for the Expo, but that it wasn't all that.

All games from RPGs to stealth games are more action oriented now.

I agree, you should speak with your wallet. However for some people that's not enough, they would rather try and convince others to do the same. That I don't agree with. I for one don't like others trying to speak on my behalf nor do I like people telling others what to do with their own money.

Really? Mind showing me where I bashed your opinion or anyone else? You didn't have an opinion, it was just a bunch of rambling about how it wasn't a true DMC game and how everyone should avoid it like the plague. So no, my responses were not about how you felt about the reboot because that is not something I can refute, it was your approach and how you keep harping the same old tactics trying to get everyone to hate the game regardless of you playing the full game. You're now doing it with Dead Space 3 and Tomb Raider.

not having a go at you but, Ive never been able to understand how people get scared by any film or game. Fear to me is something that poses a threat to me or someone a care about.

A game and film cant pose a threat to me and in dead space its just me and i can re spawn.

Infact The Walking Dead game is the only game i've ever found myself scared while playing and that was because i was fearing for clementine safety.

Now i personally dont like Dead Space 3 because its lost its survival game play in favor of a third person shooter style.

For this reason i wont be buying it.

You have never let yourself beleive that the game is real. You see it from the perspective that your in your living room with a controller in your had... to truely get lost and immersed in it and feel like your the dude on this space ship... and not that its a bunch of polygons.. thats what you would need to get scared. You cant feel fear if you go in beleiving nothings real. Suspend your disbeleif.

Thats probably why every horror game is turning into an action shooter. People with short attention spans who are numb to everything and get bored if the pace of the game slows down to make u think or become a real part of it.

Now that I think of it.. thats also the reason that every horror movie these days is turning into GORE porn. They stop being scary and start becoming about action or extreme violence. Nothing scary about extreme violence... were numb to that.

I never ever said i didnt like dead space. I love it, i still play it.

I play and enjoy lots of horror games and watch lots of horror movies. I enjoy them even though im not scared by them.

I never said i was bored while playing them and i never said i want them to be more fast past. I simply said i dont get scared playing them.

Dont make me out to be part of the problem with games becoming just copy and paste action.

I support new ips and smaller developers as much as possible

Although a lot of people on this site don't agree with you, I don't, I think the average gamer does. The series is getting more and more popular with Dead Space 3 having more preorders than 2. And 2 shipped a little less than 2 million units its first week. However, it could be Dragon Age 2 all over again with sales dropping off if the game is bad.

Id say that because dead space 2 was so popular and people are interested in continuing the story. If this one is as bad as people are saying it is.. the sales will probably lower. Look what happened to resident evil 6. People hated 5, and they continued that formula and six sales lowered drastically in comparison. Now there talking about the possibility of rebooting resident evil. lol..

The only thing missing from this series is a trilogy disc, including Extraction. The demo was friggin sick and also, I can't wait to see how they did in making Army of Two TDC.

I was never going to buy DS3 anyway. Even then after playing the first one it was refreshing to have such a scary Survival Horror title, and it was sad to hear DS3 "sell out" to the casual/action crowd

At least in my case my keyboard has more strength than my wallet. Though combining the two often proves to be the strongest

Dead Space 1 was a terrific game but when I played 2 it felt like the direction was already changing from what I loved from one. I got half way through two and just stopped, didn't like at all.

Now seeing and playing the demo for 3 the direction has definitely changed. I will still give it a try and put it in my Gamefly que but it's definitely not a must have.

Eh, I don't know if I'll go so far as to not buy it at all. Dead Space is one of my favorite franchises, and I no doubt will enjoy 3 to a degree. I enjoy it for the experience it brings to me as a gamer.

Well EA says they have to change it to "appeal" and make money. If I don't buy this new iteration, it'll either be even more action next time, or another scrapped franchise. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, but I won't be getting this either way. Dead Space is one of my favorite new IPs this generation, but they're intent on doing exactly what Capcom did to Resident Evil.
