Those same dumb shareholders will be the people putting their money right back in next quarter.

They do it so they can manipulate their money and what not it's stupid. Shareholders are the reasons we have deadlines and games aren't made to the quality standards they should be.

thorstein4093d ago (Edited 4093d ago )

Good. Those idiots can drop the share price(by selling) all they want . Now is the time to buy.

Autodidactdystopia4093d ago

yes definitely buy buy buy.

for real buy it up wait for game launch then sell.

GTA is not gonna get cancelled

i would sell now and rebuy at the lower price which is probably what the current shareholders are doing.

Athonline4093d ago

And shareholders is the reason we get sequels, HD re-releases and a large amount of games per year. Studios/ publishers need money, thus they sell equity as long-term liabilities to fund their long-term projects.

It is a double-sided sword ;-)

The reason behind the drop is the "Efficient Market Hypothesis" that states all stock markets are "efficient markets". What is mean by that? Equity (shares) price(s) change in real-time based on any public released information and no inside information exists. They may not even sold shares in a large quantity, but the price was adjusted. It is a common thing... most likely the price will go even lower the upcoming days as other shareholders start to "fear" and sell more and the first one who sold, will be buy shares back at a profit.

Can explain you a bit more if you want ;-) I did parts of Business Finance in Uni alongside my Computing degree.

knowyourstuff4092d ago

For anyone reading this, wait for the price to plumet, and when it's at its lowest, you'll see it start to rise just a little bit, buy the stock then. When GTA5 comes out, it will skyrocket, you'll make a killing. Just letting everyone know how the stock market works and how people in the know make money off their money. Now you can be a fat cat too!

Honestly, if they said it was coming in Spring, then delay until September, I think there's more going on here. I don't think the delay is solely due to just polishing the game alone (if so, WHY did they tell fans and investors that it was coming in Spring? It would have been better to say nothing at all until they knew when they were ready to give a proper due date).

I honestly believe the delay was because of the Sandy Hook shooting. The media is going berserk and politicians are being lobbied by the NRA to blame videogames for gun violence. Perhaps Rockstar [intelligently] changed their Spring projections to let time pass so they can release GTA 5 after the focus on game violence dies down a bit. Plus the added time can also allow for some additional polishing too.

Tetsujin4093d ago

Or they were forced to change a few things so it can be sold without restrictions. I was really looking forward to playing this but now I'll have to wait till Sept to get my GTA fix.

showtimefolks4093d ago

RS doesn't care the game should come out when it good and ready

dougr4093d ago

Oh lord a few of you are stock market stupid.

yeahokchief4092d ago

I bought their stock back in july back when it dropped to $8 the last time they all freaked out. Anyone selling right now is an idiot. Great time to buy more before it takes off.

bound to happen for a game this big

Majin-vegeta4093d ago

Who cares and when the game releases it will be back up over 9000!!!

Good_Guy_Jamal4093d ago

Why no love for the dbz reference? And coming from majin vegeta too? Come on that was instant classic!

DarkBlood4093d ago

dont go exploding your self now :P

ichdich4093d ago

so why they delay the game on purpose if they lose money because of that?

Mac is OK4093d ago

Because they would lose more money if they tarnished the brand by releasing an unfinished game.

ILive4093d ago

How do you know it would be "unfinished" if they released it in May? Is it because they said so? You dont know whats going on, for they may be delaying it for other reasons.

krazeecain4093d ago

@ ILive because they basically said so on their blog.

"To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense – literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be."

Thats the Rockstar* way the coolest gaming studio(label) eva

As A ps3 owner I have plenty to play til then every new ps3 exclusive will shine until then.

BOOMTAREY4093d ago

Hey all, we understand many of you guys are disappointed with this news – unfortunately sometimes such delays are necessary in all forms of entertainment, and especially in the case of a game experience as massive and complex as GTAV.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar33d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo33d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg33d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos33d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
