Why I Bought A Wii U Game Without Owning A Wii U

Warp Zoned writes:

"Yes, you read the title of this editorial correctly; I bought a game for a console I do not own. The game in question is Ubisoft’s ZombiU. It is not a gift or present for a loved one; I fully intend to use it myself. But why would I spend money on a game if I don’t own the console to play it on? That’s just madness, right?

Well, no."

Not really that crazy, no. If you get a game with the intention to get its designated platform, then there isn't really any issue. I did the same thing with Ocarina of Time on the 3DS.

kirbyu4095d ago

I was at GameStop and I almost pre-ordered all the Wii U games I wanted.

ElectricKaibutsu4095d ago

I bought a PS3 game before I bought a PS3. I don't see anything wrong with that.

PopRocks3594095d ago

But the people who disagreed with me apparently think so lol.

Nintendo is not unique. This guy is having a love affair over Nintendo. The big three are the big three for a reason. None are special.

edgeofsins4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Sony and Nintendo are special. Microsoft not so much. Sony offer cinematic movie like games and a huge variety of quality games and release great new ip's with every console and nintendo has trademark games of many types good for all ages that are very memorable and nostalgic.

sdozzo4095d ago

You can't believe what you actually say... "sony offers cinematic movie like games"... like the other two don't. Hell, almost everything is cross-plateform.

Hicken4095d ago

So name these "cinematic movie like games" on the other two consoles. For better or worse, they don't exist. What cinematic movie like multiplats can you list?

In any case, edgeofsins has the right of it. Sony and Nintendo are doing things to make themselves stand out... from a gaming standpoint. That said, each of the companies DOES have something special.

I bought a 360 game before I owned one(still don't, YET), bought a couple of Wii games and have yet to buy one. Hell, I still have some of my DS games, though I no longer have a DS.

If you want a game, GET IT. I still remember a copy of Tales of Symphonia I missed out on, because I was waiting to get a Gamecube. The game- in PERFECT condition- got sold, and my desire for a Gamecube went away.

Probably should buy Darksiders 2.

I don't think this guy is nuts, and I agree with him on the bad press Wii U's getting. When I read people saying "the Wii U is failing" I have one question....Show me the Numbers same time frame, for Wii U, 360, PS3...Show me...please. Because If you look, the Wii U is doing much better than 360/PS3 did same time frame. If you can not show me that I am wrong, why be a baby and make rude comments and disagree. I can point out just as many articles that say good as bad about the Wii U. Yet even on the articles that are good the haters have to hate. I do not care for Microsoft at all, BUT I do NOT go to the Halo 4 boards and say crap about the game. No matter what a rip off wanna be I think it is. Nope. I stick to Sony, and Wii U boards. Now the same can be said about Sony people hating on the Wii U...I like games Nintendo and Sony are the best with first party, I say if you do not like a certain console, stay the hell off their boards and don't knock people that happen to like them.

The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.

Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.
