What Do Next-Gen Consoles Have in Store for FPS Franchises?

Written by Kurt Dwyer: "First reported by Charlieintel, it appears that Activision has sent out a new survey to get feedback on the future of the Call of Duty franchise. i want to see people playing online with virtual reality graphics

4k

1200 fps

no loading

5000 players in one room

i want physics so good people on the battlefield could get shot in the leg and your charector would have to limp.

where you can develop dust on your suit.

you can spit in someones face in a match.

you can just injure someone and take there weapon and chase them and make fun with that.

I think that the FPS is the most inflexible genre these is. I can't see there being much more to offer other than more happening and better graphics.

Making it look nicer? There's only so much that can be done with the FPS genre at this point. Unless devs want to go back to making an endless supply of WWII shooters.

Probably won't happen for PS+ since Sony makes a clear distinction between a PS4 game and a PS5 game, unlike PC and Xbox where it is not a specific device game (It's now always an Xbox game).

So to make the PS5 game of fallout 4 available. Bethesda would need to renegotiate the complete deal with Sony.
hence why there's often only the PS4 version of the game available on PS+.

Let's hope Bethesda and Sony can arrive to term quickly.

I think a hard copy should be relatively cheap at this point.
