I'm thinking, in terms of a possible price cut at least, that it'll be dependent on how Sony and Microsoft price their new consoles, which we probably won't hear about until E3.

live2play4102d ago

they probably wont even have to
a $450 ps4 wont be much threat to a 300 basic wiiu

WiiUsauce4102d ago

yup. sounds reasonable, but at the same time, Nintendo is selling the system at a loss at the moment, so a price cut doesn't seem possible any time soon.

iamnsuperman4102d ago

I agree the selling at a loss means price cut will not happen but I still think they need to do it. The recent Nintendo direct shows us that Nintendo knows it will be overshadowed at E3 by new console talk (as it should happen otherwise Sony and Microsoft dropped the ball big time). I think if these systems release this year Nintendo will have a terrible year (sales wise) as it is an effect of any launch of a console (it will be two in this case). It doesn't have to be much but a small price drop will help dampen the effect of new consoles on the market

Personally the lack of a price cut isn't a big deal for me. I haven't picked up a Wii U yet(although I plan to) because the games I want most are likely not coming out in 2013. Stuff like Xenoblade 2, Bayonetta 2, Wind Waker HD, Fire Emblem x SMT and hopefully a just straight Fire Emblem. All things I can't wait to play but most will likely not make out this year. So I can afford to wait for now and pick one up next year and if there happens to be a price cut at that point then that's just a bonus.

3DS needs to be STRONGER IN AMERICA. Its looks pretty damn good now but I believe it can do even better

Nintendo is going to give us good games. They need to really focus on getting us good 3rd party games so we have plenty of games to play. This will put less pressure on Nintendo to pump out games and they can then focus on quality over quantity internally.

ozstar4102d ago

Well i think this will depend entirely on how impatient 3rd parties get with Android/Apple over profit margins and micro-transactions.

AdvanceWarsSgt4102d ago

The 3DS will definitely get a boost with the likes of Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Monster Hunter 3, and Castlevania releasing this year. I even predict a COD port to be coming to the system this fall (Activision just won't be able to ignore those potential profits for another year).

it's the 2014 year that we're unsure about. What games will be releasing then? Hopefully Nintendo is approaching 3rd parties to produce content for the system so that 2014 isn't a barren one.

yeahokchief4102d ago

It'll price cut as soon as the PS4 and 720 are announced. Just watch.

KrisButtar4102d ago

the Wii U was not doing as well as they like so they are pushing the 3DS to make up for it?

oldskoolgamer7024102d ago

bottom line it should have been $100 cheaper to start, i havealways bought every system on the first day. but im not gonna spend $300 to play mario and a bunch of games i already played

crazy_man4101d ago (Edited 4101d ago )

They sell at a $21 loss on the $350 model (almost the same as the GC loss at launch).

Imagine your $200 price fantasy now.

Nintendo isn't a big enough company to sell at a +$100 loss like Sony and Microsoft did with the 360/PS3. They have other departments to cover losses. Also, even though Nintendo has no debt and a LOT of money on reserve, they wouldn't want to burn through it.

The first pricecut, whenever it happens, should phase out the Basic and bring the $350 version down to $300.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos6h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I still go back to Infinite Space from time to time. Probably the most underrated game I ever played.
