If you can't afford a 1000 dollar PC to get Crysis 3 running on max settings, labelling that person as someone who doesn't care about graphics isn't exactly fair, nor smart. Long story short: I don't hate consoles. But they do represent some very old hardware and they constantly show the limitations of such old hardware. Don't get me wrong, some of the games on the systems are fantastic, but it's stupid to pretend as though they're just as good as PCs. The thing with PCs is that they are constantly evolving. The thing with consoles is that it's just not their nature to evolve. It's for THAT reason that PCs are better gaming systems.

Before people mark this as trolling and hating on consoles, keep in mind that it was a comment explaining what is mostly wrong with console gamers and some of their inane arguments rather than the consoles themselves.

PS. My comment was too large to post. But none of your arguments are either factually incorrect (concerning DRM and PC piracy causing online passes, since Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 had them) or your statements cross over to consoles, too (console piracy is incredibly rampant, the least so in PS3).

But anyways, about the pc and the console... I bought my laptop over 2 years ago and still plays most of the games in high settings.. like Borderlands 2, DmC, Batman Arkham City, even Far Cry 3 I can play it with normal and some high settings with no problem.
And when I bought my laptop it wasn't a big laptop it was an avarage laptop.. and after 2 years is still running strong!! You don't need to have a FU*KING power rig to run most of the games... just a medium pc will max out like 80% of the games ;) that's why I din't by another xbox 360

@chukamachine I agree and looking at the pics I don't believe the graphics will look like this on the 360. If you look at the pictures in detail the full 360 picture is blurred out where you would expect the distance to be but not the gun and health items.

I don't expect the 360 version to look as good as the pc but I don't think the 360 version of the game will look like this web site has made it out to be.

Although I admit I have a GTX 680 but got it for $400 last year. I don't ever see myself paying above that for any GPU ever. The last one I did was a GTX 580 for around $550 when it was first launched only for a couple years later for it to be worth $250.

@SlyFoxC: $200 can get you a respectable graphics card these days that stomps today's consoles and more than likely are on par or possibly better than next gen--especially if you pick them up when on sale. You don't "need" to spend the $500+ that some of us do.

It just depends on how much you're willing to spend and at what settings you want to play at. When it comes to PC its all about choices. I've known people that bought "weaker" cards that still max out most games just to play at lower resolution (especially useful if hooked to tv as not as close as a monitor anyways so difference isn't as pronounced).

Still, probably not near as strong as a high end card (unless used and good deal), but its all objective when it comes to PCs and their users anyways. It could still have been a great upgrade on what they had been using ;)

xbox shots are correct. The webite is showing a True PC-Xbox comparson. They are showing the difference that you would see on a 1080p hdtv. The blurriness, lack of detail, etc... is how different the xbox version would look compared to the pc version on the same screen.

I know how low res the console versions are since I've taken my own pics in the X360's 1080p setting with my own hardware and yes they are blurry but this site has made them look even worse.

They look more blured and the contrast looks weak as shit. It's like they've purposely chosen the worse settings for X360 in regards to Reference Levels, HDMI Colorspace and thats if they even used HDMI.

Going by the pictures it looks more like Component was used and well Component isn't the best quality picture in todays world when you can use HDMI.

My PC I bought before PS3 was released could run the original Crysis, and that looks a lot better than the 360 version of this, so I would say it's safe to say that it would look better if it were possible to play the PC version on DX9 or 10.

i disagree, it was a substantial difference the day ps3/360 came out, while they were stuck on 1280x720 at best with minimal aa, pc gamers were gaming in 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1600x900, 1920x1080 with massively more aa on all the same games

and even some games like doom 3 that came out before the ps3/360 even shipped, ps3/360 are still, even with the "bfg" edition from 2012, not able to produce the visuals that a gaming pc was able to in the game in 2004

i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt it looked BETTER than that on my pc when i played it in 2004, and it was at a higher resolution, with no screen tearing or those jaggies, so, to be honest, ps3/360 are not even on par with a gaming rig from 2004, let alone the miles beyond those console a pc is today

next gen, ps4/nextbox will lookk amazing and deliver some awesome new games and incredible continuations of existing games, but, they, again, will be far, far behind a gaming rig of today when they launch

it is impossible for a $400-$600 console to even come close to competing with a gaming rig, a gpu alone can set you back $150-$600 depending on how far you are willing to go for the most cutting edge.

I disagree. I played Doom 3 when it first came out on high settings, and it there wasn't a "huge" difference in what I had and what the console got. It was one of the last games I played before quitting. Just before it came out I got the best graphics card and everything just for that game. (you pic is obviously a random glitch)

Very few games are substantially ahead, like Crysis. A majority of other games look "cleaner" but thats it. It's at a point now where games are literally stepping away, and look a new generation of consoles is here. I spent 600 dollars on my PS3, I've had it for almost a decade, I'll be buying a PS4. My "upper tier" graphics card I got for Doom 3 lasted about a year and half before becoming a lower tier card.

Most kids cannot afford or they cannot build a PC for themselves. I own a PS3 and beast PC atm and I barely turn my PS3 on anymore except to play blurays my PC won't play for some reason. Yes, it has some cool games no doubt and I will go and finish Ico in 1080p native and LA Noire and a couple others when I feel like it. The PS3 definitely has some decent games but it's done. Ancient history. Jaggies, popup, tearing, horseshit framerates, etc. I cannot stand games not developed by Sony themselves.

Ni no Kuni is perfect example. The game would look 10x better on a PC and would look almost like a friggin' movie. Now it has jaggies up the wazoo and awful resolution and framerate. Kids just need to defend what they have. Most adults interested in gaming either have a PC or are simply waiting for PS4 or planning on getting a PC. When the PS4 and such raise the development bar we will be seeing Nvidia 700 series which is going to make the PS4 look pretty dated in itself.

On another note, the PS4 specs look nice and coding to the metal is going to do wonders for it and I will buy it soon after it comes out to experience all the exclusive games.

I don't really care what the PC vs console versions look like side-by-side. When I play Crysis 3 on my Xbox 360, I will not have the game playing on the PC right next to it so I won't know what I'm missing. For example, Far Cry 3 looks GORGEOUS on the 360. Maybe it would look like crap compared to the PC version, but that doesn't matter to me. It's kind of like when you go back and play a last gen game. At first you are stunned by how blurry and SD the picture looks, but you gradually get used to it and it no longer bothers you. I never play on the PC, so there's nothing to even get used to when I play a 360 or PS3 multiplatform title. I have seen some stunning-looking games recently.
