Could a new Sonic game be on the way?
Gameplay footage of an initially rumored Sonic battle royale game has now appeared online. It is expected to launch later this year.
BY MICHAEL WESSON: Gaming mascots have long served as the faces of their respective games and gaming platforms. They have embodied the essence of what their titles are about and often transcend their digital origins, becoming cultural icons with a significant impact on merchandise, movies, and even theme parks.
Sonic games set the standard for amazing platformer games, impacting generations of gamers and providing countless fresh ideas each time.
My main gripe with CD was that some of the levels were a bit too confusing, and many of the bosses were just oddly stupid IMO.
Growing up I heard how Sonic CD was the best Sonic ever, and since my parents refused to buy me the CD add-on, I could only wish I played it. When I finally did it a few years later, I couldn't believe how bad it was. The focus on exploration did not work at all for Sonic, the time traveling mechanic sounds interesting on paper but was badly implemented, and even the graphics felt weird to me, it seemed like Sonic sprites were put in a different game, like a ROM-hack, even the background was too visually aggressive in most stages, making it hard to even see what was happening..
I truly think Sega CD owners didn't have much to boast, so they created this legend of "the best Sonic game you can't play because you don't know anybody who has a Sega CD". I was a Sega fanboy, so I did my fair share of this kind of stuff.

Better be Generations 2. That was the only real worthwhile one in years in my opinion. They had a wonderful concept with it, and a fantastic game. Just do that again, with some improvements over the last (more stages like Death Egg Zone, not sure why that wasn't in the first., tighten up controls a little, try and keep a constant frame rate, etc.) and we have a winner.

sonic generations sequel or a game similar, i cant get enough of that gameplay.
a sonic action rpg.
a real (sonic4) meaning a game that truly feels like the classics.
id be happy with these or something completly new just as long as it doesnt suck.
Sonic team needs to be replaced all together.. They havent made a glitch free game in over a decade.. Sonic just cant be in 3D without rails.. & with rails & speed boosters everywhere, your not really controlling him... The computer does most of it so please PLEASE reboot the series in 2D but fire the current sonic team & make a new 1 cuz they screwed up 4 ep 2 really bad..
No shadow, silver, Big Cat, or any of those other franchise killing plagues.. Keep it cool like it used to be in the genesis/saturn days.. It had more of a darker tone to me in the past too.. The music was even better than the rock n roll songs in it now..
Sega should do for sonic what Nintendo has been doing with Mario the last few years.
Like the 2d new super mario bros., sega should just go back to basics and do 2d sonic again in the style of the genesis games.
With today's high tech consoles, im sure a fully 2d sonic game would look and play amazing I think.
Add the chaos emeralds and super sonic levels and bam! There's your sonic reboot.
