Makes sense. Here's hoping the gameplay is upgraded along with the graphics. I enjoyed Dead Island, but there were moments where the game simply missed the mark.

Dark_Overlord4099d ago (Edited 4099d ago )

You mean like the save game corruption that was promised a fix but never materialised? The current way it is 'fixed' is a half arsed p*ss poor effort, it should have been eliminated ages ago.

EDIT - @matrixman92

The game can recover story missions up to a certain point, but you lose every single side mission progress as well as trophy progress (like I said, half arsed), when you load the game it should offer to recover it.

matrixman924099d ago

there is a way to fix it? i literally just got the corrupt file on my lvl 50 Sam B character last week

SilentNegotiator4099d ago

It needs a new save system in general, too. I want to save on the fly.

ame224099d ago

Riptide looks like an expansion back. This should've been their next move instead.

FarCryLover1824099d ago

They pretty much said thats what it is. They don't consider it a sequel. Also they aren't charging the full price of 60USD for it.

SilentNegotiator4099d ago (Edited 4099d ago )

Make it less tedious. I'm about 10 hours in, and all I've done is melee zombies that take 2-10 hits to kill (other than Thugs) and fetch quests. IDK, maybe there's more variety to come, but for TEN hours? Sheesh.

And better voice acting with less annoying, unclever stereotypes. "I am RUSHEEN. Bring me alke-hal. MY COUNTRY GREATEST"

Lordchunk4099d ago

Hopefully they improve on character and lip movement when SAM B got chatting he was miming away and it looked silly sometimes, also more weapons they may have missed out on dead island one but they were spot on with the coop and it was very fun.

JaredH4099d ago (Edited 4099d ago )

I just want the new game to have a clear direction and tone. In the first game my character would say "I'm dying" in a dumb and laughable way after being hit by a zombie. Then a cut-scene would play that tried to be super serious.

That's pretty cool, but didn't they just lay of 10k as a whole. Reportedly some from the gaming division even.

Confused in pa.

Sonyslave3216d ago

Yes they did , it the circle of life in the tech bizz.

blackblades216d ago

Circle of life of meh games

mkis007216d ago (Edited 216d ago )

This is called good PR. And an opportunity to hire veterans over scrubs.

phoenixwing215d ago

Not to call them scrubs but yeah some veteran devs are more welcome than others with less experience

Flakegriffin215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

You can hire veterans all day long but it’s the talent Microsoft lacks.

Zeref215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

It was mostly outside of gaming. Most of the game studios weren't affected besides 343i and Coalition from what I recall

Charlieboy333215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

But of course. Just look at the latest Saint's Row....that is exactly the level of quality and writing that Xbox strives for these days.

Aloymetal215d ago

Nope, like Redfall, Craig infinite

ravens52215d ago

There u go. This is way more acceptable than buying up studios. Buy individual talent until you strengthen your already owned studios. 👏🏽

Dead Island 2 devs believe a Dead Island remake would be a “mistake”

We might be in the age of remasters, but it doesn't look like the Dead Island 2 devs believe remaking the original game is the right move for the series.

but remakes require far less effort for these companies and they can still charge $70 for them!

Feel like everyone makes fun of Skyrim re-releasing like 18 times yet applaud these remasters elsewhere. Would much prefer NEW games

CrimsonWing69400d ago

Making sequels really is the way to go. Otherwise we'll be stuck playing only the first entry, forever!!!
