GotGame: Pokemon has grown into one of the most popular gaming franchises ever, and in the process its roster has grown to almost comical proportions. The original 150 has ballooned from its already large number to include 649. For those of us playing from the beginning, nothing will replace those first 150 in our hearts. A few Pokemon have remained useful over all of these years, and this article is devoted to those Pokemon who have stood the test of time. Which are the best Pokemon to emerge out of the Kanto region? Read on to find out.
Jo writes "Ash Ketchum’s journey – and our own within the games – across many regions with friends, foes, and fellow pocket monsters turned into a pop culture phenomenon that still reigns as the most successful franchise in its 25th year."
Xfire writes "As you'll soon learn, while it is true that some popular banned video games do at least warrant the censorship or ban they received, some games were banned from sale for some pretty weird and radical reasons."
i dont get censorship in games.
they have warnings on the boxings, age ratings, drug use warnings, strong language and sexual themes and many more.
its not so much the government's job to censor, as it is for parents to make sure their kids dont play those games. and those who are easily disturbed or sensitive, should stay away from them.
i do understand that some things might be triggering for some but.... why do ppl suck so much lol.
but being in debt before 18 or 21 is highly acceptable somehow ha
seriously.
I’m glad there’s not much censorship in the UK towards video games. Reading bully was banned confused me as i don’t recall that at all.
Nintendo has always been bashed for its censorship (green blood in MK controversy) and then they gave us some dark moments like Crocomire’s death in Super Metroid and even let us strangle people to death with the Wii controller. It’s like they have tried at times but there image is very much Cemented as family friendly so I don’t think they will ever be able to stray far from that.
I remember my mom coming home from work with a copy of Thrill Kill and saying “I heard this games banned so I got you a copy” 🙌
Honestly the game wasn’t even that bad, there’s far worse content in books and movies.
honestly, its up to the parents and the players on what kind of experience they want to have, not the publisher.
From Cinelinx:
To celebrate this year's very special Pokemon Day, I take a look back at the original games' impact and how it still resonates today.
Nostalgia ... the new ones are not bad either.
Look at Monster Hunter, I have been playing Monster Hunter since the first MH was released in europe, sometimes I feel nostalgic about the old monster line-up of the first MH on Playstation 2, but then again I look at the new Monster Hunter titles ... that is when I realize that they have adjusted or perfectioned the gameplay of the series, for example: in the older Mh titles one could not target the monsters, while in the new ones you can target your opponent, which is an important change for the series, the art-style has become better too. Same with Pokemon, the new graphics will help the series a lot and the new Pokemon do not look that bad, the legendaries look rather awesome.
The original 150 pokemon were my favourite, each generations keeps getting more and more different, But im still a fan. I need a 3DS now so I can play Pokemon X and Y.
I still dig Pokemon Blue the most.
