Is The PC Version of Terraria Getting New Updates? It Sure Seems So

Fans of the PC version of Terraria may finally rejoice! You will not have to rely on the console version just to see new updates as Redigit (also known as @Demilogic) is coming back to work. If you’re unfamiliar with the console reference, allow me to shed some light. When the console version was announced, developers 505 Games stated that there would be new content, but were unable to comment on the PC version as they do not own the rights. Of course, this caused some tension, as those affected felt left out.

We'll see but to me it just seems all he cares about is the console version

Care about the fans who got you were you are.

I still find it funny that looking after his new born son was the excuse over ditching the PC version then he's going to meetings and working alongside 505 Studios for the console version STRAIGHT after he told the PC community he HAD to look after his child.

Why didn't he just tell the truth and say "I can't be bothered at the minute"

Well, he left the PC version to be with his family a few months ago. I honestly believe that he is coming back and is going to get the community to help provide some future content. Such is seen with the forum post he made asking for suggestions for the "hypothetical update".

He said he was going to do one last bug fix....did he do that....nope

As I've said...we'll see but he better because he's just raising peoples hopes.

lol, as a indie dev he can't really say anything against PC gaming so I guess any excuse will do :P

That's why we'll have Starbound. Hopefully it's even better than Terraria.

NYC_Gamer4107d ago

Oh,now he cares enough to create new content?after he turned his back/ditched the community who made his game successful..

and left the game with less than half the content he said he would make.

the moment the game dropped away from the top 10 games on steam he stopped caring.

also, he is a very bad leader, to the point he got jealous of his own co-workers and fired them.

I think he's been scared that they are now doing Starbound which looks amazing

Dude... how many hours did you get out of that game for your 10 dollars? (or probably less)

shadowraiden4106d ago

while i agree for the price its well worth the money. The problem was there was promises for so much more that he didnt deliver on.

i never understood Terraria developers due to 1 thing all they needed to do was open up mod support and they wouldnt have to bother with content anymore if they wished to take time off.

the reason games like Minecraft do so well is because of the constant release of mods that are changing the game in new ways.

I don't see why people are even upset about the whole situation. Maybe he really left to be with his family or maybe part of the reason he stopped supporting the game is because it was too much. Still, I got a lot more than my moneys worth.

Even though I have a pc to play it on and will buy the ps3 version when it comes out, I've always wished they made it compatible with macs because I'm on my MacBook for school way more than I am my pc anymore.
