In this case it means that is the word that Nintendo used to describe it, so it is technically used correctly, and not necessarily for emphasis. Italics or bold face would be better suited for emphasis.

Also, not to be a grammar Nazi, but the way you used the quotation marks isn't right, as you are not referring to a previous quote.
