While fans continue to petition Square Enix for a re-make of Final Fantasy VII, the publisher may be reviving another of its classic franchises. A recent trademark filed by the company suggests that the PlayStation 2 classic Drakengard (known as Drag-On Dragoon in Japan) could be marked for re-release.
Square Enix suggested they might remaster more games from their storied archives—here are the classics we’d like to see get a new coat of paint.
I would definitely enjoy a Xenogears remaster. Recently finished Legend of Dragoon again (this time with platinum trophy) and would love to dive back into Xenogears with Fei and the rest of the crew.
Square Enix classics? dont they mean Squaresoft. Square Enix dont make classic games, just games with pretty graphics, no heart & soul, boring & over stuffed with woke Gen Z cockiness.
But while were on the subject i would love too see a remaster of Front Mission 3.
Nier and Drakengard are two series that couldn't be more different in their setting and stories, but somehow they are still linked.
From Xfire: "For better or worse, Remakes/Remasters are here to stay. After companies realized that fans are willing to pay the same price - or even more - for the re-release of an old game, they turned turbo mode on and hit the gas. Heck, I am one of these crazy fans - I have six Final Fantasies on my PlayStation!"
Bushido Blade... Like, please... It would be absolutely glorious with modern tech! Why don't we ever see fan attempted remakes for Bushido Blade!? I know Hellish Quart is trying to fill that void some. but there was just something really cool about each and every Bushido Blade character. Very anime-esque, but also gruesomely realistic with its combat.
I loved both of these games... I would LOVE an HD remake, and a Drakengard 3 would be EPIC!... So long as Caim returns.
Drakengard 3 would be awesome
Please let someone other than Square work on it...
Let them hire someone from the Panzer Drgoon series at least. The whole team.
It would be nice if it was that SE wanted to sell the previous Drakengard games as a download game. That way they could get people into the series so they could put out a new one.
I used to love this game back in the day i cant believe i forgot about it would completely welcome a new one.
