Some games almost require a multiplayer component in order to be popular these days, but does Grand Theft Auto really need it? Who wants it so bad?
The freedom to explore large areas, approach objectives in multiple ways, and stumble across amusing distractions will always be an excellent format for video games, but some do it better than others. To celebrate the formula and parse the best from the best, have a look at the best open-world games of all time so far.
Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 are both classics, but movement and general interaction sometimes feels like you're possessed by a fridge.
Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…
The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.
Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games
I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
From their most recent entries in the GTA franchise to their cult favorite racing games, find here the best Rockstar games, ranked from best to worst.
Considering GTA4 multiplayer was the first online multiplayer I have played. I'm really looking forward to see all the improvements this time around. GTA4 was an alright multiplayer but it felt like it lacked something. Maybe GTA5 can bring back Co-op from San Andreas! That was crazy fun playing with my bro!
I occasionally play GTA 4's multiplayer here and there. Bomb da Base is definitely one of my favorites. I look forward to playing GTA 5's multiplayer and roam around the big city!
I honestly would be disappointed if they didn't have multi in GTA 5. I just adore open world games with multi player. Messing around in a huge city with friends is awesome. Plus the GTA 5 map is gonna be huuuuuge (Red Dead + San Andreas + GTA 4 = GTA 5)
Hell yeah I care about GTA V's multiplayer. Even though we hardly know anything about it, the multiplayer is what gives the game so much replay value. Even the replay value in the singleplayer GTA:SA was amazing, but with online it is just so much better.
Also, Rockstar said that in regards to GTA V's multiplayer, that GTA V is going to try to change Open-World multiplayer the way GTA III changed open-world singleplayer.
I can't wait for it. Rockstar seems to improve by leaps and bounds with each game.
GTA4 was a solid foundation. Fun... but far from perfect.
Red Dead added a whole lot more... co-op hideout attacks, levels, unlocks, better deathmatch and capture the flag-style modes.
Max Payne had perks, loadouts, grinds, clans, unique modes, great maps.
I'm expecting GTAV to build upon all of that.
It will be glorious.
