GamerCrash.com: Dead Space 3 Demo Impressions

GamerCrash Writes: "Dead Space 3 is only a few weeks away and while I’m a fan of the franchise, for whatever reason, Dead Space 3 just hasn’t really resonated with me yet. With early access to the demo last week (it’s out today for everyone), I was hoping that this would finally get me amped up for what I expect to be a well made game. After setting some time aside, I sat down and dove in ready to shoot more limbs off those pesky necromorphs. I managed to come out alive, I’ve decided to jot down some thoughts on the experience. So, does the third chapter hit all the high notes? Here are my impressions of the Dead Space 3 demo"

I enjoyed it, but did not like shooting enemy soldiers.

Just want a horror game.

same here. big fan of this franchise. The snow and ice planet didn't bother me as much as it offers a new environment to enperience and the weapons crafting is nice, but two things bothered me.

First the cover system seems poor and unnecessary in a game like this. Fighting enemy necros shooting seems forced and this ties into my second concern.

Dead Space is going on it's third game and is now feeling a bit clunky in the control department, which is made worse now using a cover system and fighting enemies that shoot guns.

I will still get it, but this is the first game in the franchise, where I have felt concerned and others seem to feel that way to.

yeah the demo was alright. I as well HATED shooting enemy soldiers. I don't mean to sound like a psycho, but "Strategic Dismemberment" was the core concept of the gameplay to this series, the game director even said. How are you suppose to do that with HUMAN soldiers? There's no strategy to this game anymore, and I HATE THE WEAPON CREATION! Just go back to the node system!

Why Dead Space 3 Will Be the Hardest to Remake

If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.

Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.

Yeah I agree. Make a dead space 3, but have an original story/setting. They’ve proven they can do the game justice, and I think they could evolve 2 in a good direction, keeping a similar tone. I’d love s Dead Space 2 and 3 though. The remake was fantastic. Top tier remake, up there with RE2.

Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.

Ninver412d ago

It's the worst in the series.

Dead Space 3, A Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Kyle Nicol:

"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?

Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."

They need to seriously continue this ip with a new entry. Even if it's just another movie I don't care I love everything about this game.
