THQ asset bids approved, studio and IP sales to go ahead

I think this is just the beginning of the consolidation to come. THQ has been unhealthy for a long while but it managed to limp along for at least two years on core franchises alone, similar to Take 2's strategy.

I wonder if that's the best method of running a company? Relying on hits doesn't seem smart.

It's crazy but I really really feel bad for THQ. :( this industry is cold and its a darn shame that most anything outside of mega franchises don't perform well in today's economy

I agree, Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo could have swooped down from on high and taken Darksiders, for example.

Somebody needs to get hold of Darksiders asap. Darksiders 1 and 2 is the perfect example of how to draw inspiration from a franchise (zelda) and put your own Unique , lovable slant on it.

Dam i got out bid buy a $1 na this kinda sad news a company that ben around for many years ok maybe theyve not done as well they could have done recent years but still.
alot jobs alot people a well published brand named sad times.

Crytek was working on homefront 2 so they got barguin at 500k plus

Oh the irony: first and second Assassin's Creed creative director left Ubisoft for THQ Montréal and now it's getting bought by Ubi.
