GTA 5 Release Date 2013: March 24 Launch Leaked By Microsoft.

The GTA 5 release date may be closer than we thought! According to a commenter on our own site, Microsoft has emailed "Grand Theft Auto" fans who pre-ordered the game, revealing that the GTA 5 release date is pegged for March 24. Read on for more news and info.

I have no clue when GTA V will be released, all I (we) know is it is Spring (which is official).
Now that means March, April or May.

Anyone can pluck out a number... However remember the rumors claiming spring release (March mainly) well before Rockstar announced it officially?

2K Sports is part of 2K Games, which is owned by Take Two, so they're not only working on sports games. Bioshock, Xcom, Darkness, and Borderlands are 2K games aswell. Just saying man seemed like you thought 2k only made sports games.

Hey guys what guys, Shenmue III is finally being released during the third week of August this year, and it's okay to report that because I'm about to post it as a comment somewhere on the Internet. Maybe after that, I'll send an e-mail to IGN and tell them that a sequel to LA Noire, Gettysburg Noire is being slated for release next year and it'll focus on the Lincoln assassination. There's no way it comes out in two months. Huge games like GTA need at least 3-4 months for marketing and building the hype train. I expect this game to come out in mid-May just like their last three releases (Max Payne, LA Noire, RDR).

As other people stated above, they would be nuts to release it on the last month of the fiscal year. It just doesn't make sense from a business standpoint view. And as you've said, they wouldn't have enough time to promote their game for like 2 months; at least as Rockstar usually does.

Yeah, a lot of stories and posters on here lack common sense and logic. Just looking at facts and historic trends, if you are to guess a release date all signs point to mid May (probably May 21st)

1. As I said earlier, the last three releases from R* have all come out on the third Tuesday of May.
2. Take-Two, R*'s parent company is releasing Bioshock Infinite on March 26. There's no way they'd release GTA5 the same week.
3. E3 is in June and it is widely speculated that next gen consoles will be officially announced then. Hence why all publishers are scrambling to release their current gen games prior to then.

There is only 1 teaser and 1 trailer released. This kind of game actually have a big marketing camapagn behind and it only leave 2 month for the marketing camapagn, so at the end i highly doubt its the release date.

We already know GTA V will not release in March. It may have at one point been scheduled for March, but Take Two drastically reduced their earnings forecast for the quarter ending March 31, 2013, which rules out GTA V for that quarter.

So we look at the April-June quarter which would fit with a "Spring 2013" release and we look at all the Tuesdays in that quarter. So GTA V will release on one of these days: April 2, April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18, or June 25. Yes, one of those elusive dates is the day GTA V will fall into our hands, but which one?

Unless of course the game is delayed, but I doubt that. It probably took them so long to announce a release window because they didn't want to disappoint fans as they have so many times in the past with delays. Also, considering the year gap between the first and second trailers, there were almost certainly internal delays already.

So if they go with a late April release similar to GTA IV's, that should put the release date on April 30. But I'll put my money on May 21. That's the third Tuesday in May, the same day Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3 were released.

First off Rockstar likes to promote and hype their games, this would be two months away and its not official, they will use more lead time then that to create hype. I think journalists are grasping at straws for anything to write.

Secondly, why would Microsoft agree to launch the new Gears of War game on March 19th, that wouldn't be enough time to get their sales in before a huge game like GTA V takes up all the market in sales.
