GameZone writes, "Koch Media has formally announced the acquisition of intellectual property rights for Metro and Saints Row -- two of THQ's most beloved and successful franchises. Koch Media, the owner of Dead Island publisher Deep Silver, also acquired Volition, the Chicago-based studio responsible for the development of Saints Row and Red Faction. As part of the announcement, the company confirmed that Deep Silver will lead "all further development and marketing" on the Saints Row and Metro franchises."
Saints Row made its debut nearly 20 years ago, and while the game has aged its still worth playing on modern consoles.
Back when games had balls. Now they still have balls, but also lipstick and a dress.
🥲🥲 someone needs to buy this ip and watch dogs, give those franchises a proper treatment sheesh
First 3 games were great. Then 4, Gat out of Hell and the Reboot were flimsy in comparison. Aliens, demons and a weak reboot in terms of intensity made the games forgettable.
Epic Games has just revealed the latest game made available for free for a day on the Epic Games Store, and it's Saints Row.
Lmao wouldn't touch this mf rip off saints row if it was given to me, lmao I'm good still enjoying the real saints rows 1&2 someone should buy this ip n give it the real proper treatment
I saw it was free and it still seemed over priced for what it was and didn't bother adding it to my library
let the lesson be learnt, any more woke crap games will be sent to die, even more if they destroy a well loved franchise.
All I remember from this was I saw the news about how you can't make a well endowed female character and most of the settings don't help much with the female face. However they thought it was completely fine to let you make your character a toilet and went to great legnths to get it added. But yeah a dolled up female was out of the question.
The rebooted Saints Row on PS Plus has seen a huge influx of PS5 and PS4 players — enough to make it the second-biggest PS Plus Essential game debut of 2023.
They are tracking 3.2M PS5 players. They say the Saints Row's PS Plus debut player count fell 23.64% short of the Battlefield 2042 PS Plus debut.
Everyone downloading to see for themselves just how garbage the game actually is, then they'll play a few hours and delete forever lol
They're tracking just the ones who downloaded it not kept playing. These are people seeing if it's good.
How about report numbers of people who kept playing.
Saints row reboot was an embarrassment to the franchise and it killed the developer.
I played the entire game of SR & for me the gameplay experience wasn't bad especially for a PS+ game.
Really dont know about them the games they have published so far have been mediocre at best including dead island.
R.I.P. Saints Row :(
"As part of the announcement, the company confirmed that Deep Silver will lead "all further development and marketing" on the Saints Row and Metro franchises. As a fan of those franchises, this worries me -- especially on the heels of the recent Dead Island Riptide Zombie Bait debacle which saw a bloodied, limbless female torso as a collectible bonus. I can only imagine -- and shudder -- with an idea of what they might have in store for Saints Row 4."
"Koch Media and Deep Silver will detail future plans for reach franchise "in the coming months." Until then, we hold our breath and anxiously await. The rest of THQ's assets have been auctioned off and purchased be other companies, which you can learn more about here."
Wait what? Does this mean no Metro in march?
Their response: "F*ck yeah moneys going to start rolling in".
Off Topic - Dead Island sucked.
Edit - Lol @ the quote in the article - "Deep Silver is perfectly positioned to lead these brands...straight into the ground".
Yeah I added the last little bit but that's what came into my mind when I read it LOL.
If they make Volition make the next saints row awesome like SR2 was then in my opinion this purchase will be a huge success. The third was the massive disappointment. SR is one of my favorite series of all time and the third was my most anticipated game ever at that particular moment. It was such a huge letdown. The craziness of the game got bland and repetitive pretty quickly. All I want is for Volition to go back to franchises roots by actually having a somewhat serious story
