I HATE to be negative, but as AWESOME as Xenoblade is (I even have 2 copies, one sealed), it sold very poorly in the States and EU. People are just starting to see how great it is and are paying $100 a copy since its out of print already. It won't surprise me if this never leaves Japan. Fingers crossed, and rainbows wished upon that it will be released worldwide though.

Actually according to Nintendo it sold pretty well, beyong what they expected. Might have not set the sale charts on fire, but definitely enough to please Nintendo.

Sexius Xenoblade isnt out of print. I see tons of new copys in every gamestop i go in. It sold very well as did TLS. So well in fact theyre localizing Pandoras Tower which was the least popular of the 3. The only way people would pay 100 is people going to ebay or amazon instead of Gamestop.

It seems to be a direct sequel to Xenoblade. Hopefully seeing Shulk doesnt spoil Xenoblade as im still not done 60-70 hours in. Buying this and a wii-u the day this or a Mistwalker title releases. Seems the wii-u is Nintendos return to Snes levels of awesome.

Wow, there is a lot going on there. A Kingdom Hearts meets PSO style combat system, some online-like connectivity. Ginormous dinosaurs, freaky monsters. Mechs!!!

Hmmm never bothered about WiiU before this trailer the reason I buy consoles is JRPG's they are the only games I really play on consoles and the sole reason I invest. I love them to bits. It's why I ended up getting a 360 (for blue dragon etc) and stuck with my ps3 all this time after my 360's have long gone. However I dont like the look of the fight system on this. Other than that it looks great. Would have to see it more. It may not even come in English. Xenoblade nearly didnt and thats with the insane amount of Wii's sold outside Japan.

The trailer is impressive. However, nobody cared about Monolithsoft when they were making the Xenosaga series on PS2 and now they are suddenly regarded as a AAA JRPG developer. It is sad because they had to quit the Xenosaga series because of poor reception. Then they got sold to Nintendo and now they are rising to fame under them.

Not trying to go against what you said at all. The game look great, but it doesn't look like anything the PS360 wouldn't be capable of. That's probably Aplha footage, and right now the game is easily among the best looking games on the PS360. That's saying a lot since the Wii-U is still in it's first year, but still we're comparing Wii-U to 6 & 7 year old consoles, and they're holding their own.

That being said, it's everything I wanted and hoped for in the Wii-U. Nintendo has stepped it up with this Nintendo-Direct. These are the kind of announcements and games I needed to see to get me interested in the Wii-U. This N-Direct has finally got me interested in wanting to buy a Wii-U.

I still think they should have gone with a simple AMD A8 - A10 APU which would have easily been priced the same, offered more power than what they currently have, and would have guaranteed that at the very least they will receive ports of most 3rd party games made for the PS4 / Nextbox / and PC since the Wii-U would have been a low-end PC that uses a highly similar CPU / GPU combination in the next gen consoles. But they're really pulling a lot out of what they have.

Consider me impressed.

Wii U is next gen, I didn't refer to the "graphics" in my statement, if you thought I was then you jumped to conclusions since that is all people care about these days.

Look beyond the graphics, look at the scale, the frame rate, the detail, it's definitely a step beyond the PS3 and 360 but not a giant leap, this is still early in development mind you, so I expect to be further impressed as its release draws near.

There are plenty of PS360 games, that have scale, the frame rate (you can't say what the fps are, especially considering it's a clip of scenes), the detail, and all like you've mentioned.

There are few that combine all in one, but they do exist. As I said this game stands toe-to-toe with the best out there on console, but from what's been shown it's doable on PS360.

Wow, simply wow. Xenoblade Chronicles was easily one of the better RPG games out there, but was skipped by many who abandoned their Wii's, and was passed over by the awards because it wasn't in HD.

Just looking at this trailer alone gets me excited to see more. The sheer scope of this game could be massive, if Xenoblade was any indication of how much bigger this game could possibly be with all that extra space and power at their disposal.

Simple solution, get both Monster Hunter and the new Monolith game! I've only experienced MH on the Wii but that experience was enough to make me buy a Wii U just to play Ultimate. This new Monolith game on the other hand made my jaw drop.

What do you mean "lately"? Monster Hunter is another case of them releasing one atop the other with slight tweaks. That's why there hasn't been a version on the PS3 besides the PSV upscale which in turn was the PSP game, and why the one - one - on 360 was PC port.

I understand you enjoy your Wii U and you'll enjoy this game, more power to you. And I have no idea about what Xenoblade is but if you say it's a quality title I'll take your word on it. However the graphics, I'm afraid, is not next-gen material here. Not only we've seen similar looking games on current-gen consoles, but also PC versions of current-gen games (like the PC version of Witcher 2) inarguably look way better than what we see in this trailer. Even Assassin's Creed 3's open-world looks better than that on PC if you play it at max settings.

I don't know, maybe I'm not impressed easily as I generally play on my gaming PC. Even if we can all agree that this game looks better than Witcher 2 on Xbox 360, I'd hardly call it a "next-gen" title like you did as the graphical leap provided here would not be enough for me. What I'd call next-gen is Watch Dogs, or Star Wars 1313.

That's what people did with MGS Ground Zeroes, and what you're doing right now with this game when you call it a next-gen title is no different. Maybe you'll change your mind when you see games like Star Wars 1313 in action. For now, you can all shout "Yeaaah take that PS3-360 gamers! Wii U is a graphical beast capable of unmatched things!" as loud as you want. Braid, in that video you linked the framerate doesn't look that great, but I don't know if that was just the version they used or what. I would say the vistas and lighting are definitely comparable.
Honestly I think the new Monolith game's graphics need some work. Pop in for the grass for one thing. It looks like the same grass as the Wii's Xenoblade so maybe they just threw that in without tweaking it yet. We really won't know how good the graphics will look until it's finished.

I expect a lot, i mean a lot more from Sony's upcoming console and microsoft's too, i truly dont see that much of a difference between ps3/xbox 360 games and this game but thats just my opinion.

But i have to say im impressed by this title, hopefully comes out sooner rather than later and Nintendo need to show me Zelda ASAP so i can get on the WiiU bandwagon!!! happy gaming everyone.

Exclusive wise sony might stand more of a chance against nintendo but microsoft is out of its league. Nintendo has quietly expanded its stable with games like Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandoras Tower, Fatal Frame, Disaster, Rengeki, Bayonetta, and now the Wonderful 101. And thats just to add on to the other titles it has. I think Nintendo is really going to surprise alot of people this gen. And seeing a HD remake of Wind Waker opens the door to HD remakes of the Fatal Frame franchise as well as other titles. As a gamer Im most excited by what Nintendo has up its sleeves but im in no way counting out the other guys. In the mean time we dont even have announcments of the other consoles, just speculation. No hint of games, just hopes. People are forgetting how consoles launch apparently, maybe sony and ms will buck the snazzed up port trend but i doubt it. Itll probably be a good year before they see any worth while software. And by the time they do Nintendos exclusives will be out in force. Its going to be a tough battle if they fail to live up to the fans expectations

I told every one last gen the makers of last story xenoblade and pandoras tower will show people what had and creativity look like and play like. Last story was way better looking than xenoblade too.

We have 3 powerhouse rpg makers on nintendo side. Retro title was not even shown yet. Nintendo is doing colaborations with other big studios too!

We are not even talking about Zelda yet.

I have a very powerful pc but for some reason creativity always trumps tech. Game play always trumps tech and finally no excuses. It would be nice if all the troll developers could make nic games like this instead of complaining.

People can keep believing nintendo has no new content if they want.

It's obviously a Xeno game, given Monolith's involvement, the giant mechs, and of course the X at the end.

That X though... really reminds of Xenogears' logo.

Anyhow this looks incredible.

One gripe: I know Xenoblade and this aren't connected directly to Xenosaga, as the latter isn't directly connected to Xenogears, but they all have the same sort of spirit (and mechs!) It's always annoyed me a bit that a franchise which begun on the playstation (4 games), never brought any more games to the playstation. It didn't have to be exclusive or anything, but I bought a ps3 thinking I'd probably see a Xeno game on it. Guess not. I might buy a Wii somewhere down the line but I dunno.

why people getting excited over a system that is only slightly more powerful than current gen, which is almost 7 years old is beyond me

nintendo should've made a system that will be more powerful or just as powerful than ps4 and xbox3 so they dont play the stupid catch up game, the amount of people who would've bought wii U would've been crazy, because nintendo could've delivered "why wait for next gen, its already here" kind of thing, but now they gave that chance to xbox3 and ps4, stupid on their part

and this generation nintendo will have a hard time... alot of people who bought wii last generation wont buy it again this generation because they have the mindset of "omg... we didn't even play that wii that much, i dont think i will buy wii U", reality is most people partied or had some kind of get together and a wii was sitting there... everybody started having fun playing wii tennis, or whatever, everyone is hooked and they all go pick it up the next day, once they bring it home, most people play less than 24 hrs on their wii, it is just collecting dust, so good luck convincing ur mom this generation to buy u a wii U ! lol
