Yoichi Wada: now that I have taken the Final Fantasy series down to the levels of a sewer...the big question is how can I take it down even further?

Yoichi Wada: I know, lets make tons of sh*tty mobile games

majiebeast4108d ago (Edited 4108d ago )

Lol square enix cant even make mobile games anymore, not sure if they can make anything decent these days. The company is just a sinking ship at this point, and only have themselves to blame for making incredibly dumb decisions this gen.

-Mika-4107d ago

Yep, just ignore final fantasy dimensions and the chaos ring series.

DragonKnight4107d ago

You're going to compare those games to the kind of stuff that SE used to make? Get off them Mika, they have gone so far down the drain they're in the sewage plant now.

HardCover4107d ago

To be fair, they have been making some pretty good money lately.

Just sayin'.

Son_Lee4108d ago

They must be making bad games on purpose at this point.

NegativeCreep4274107d ago (Edited 4107d ago )

Is it just pure incompetence at Square-Enix, pure carelessness, pure recklessness, or a combination of all three?

Old, commendable SquareSoft what the f*ck happened to you???

Final Fantasy is now on the level of Madden NFL!

Snookies124108d ago

I wish I could just go up to Wada and smack him. Tell him to get the hell out, and put someone competent in charge of SquareEnix. I'm pretty sure ANYONE will do. ANYONE besides him...

I picked this game up before there were any reviews and wasn't very impressed at all, I expected to at least be able to pick the party members or gear my characters. The Gil you earn each round has no point since there's no shops to buy stuff from, but the one thing I enjoy is seeing what new jobs I get every level or two. Seeing a geomancer or berserker or samurai for a first time puts a smile on my face and I can't really explain why. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone really, it's too bad SE decided to put no strategy in this game, gearing characters, equipping gear, and setting usable skills could have made this game a lot more fun to play.

Top 10: Worst Final Fantasy Games

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "The Final Fantasy series is one of gaming’s most revered franchises with many of its games finding themselves near the top of ‘best games of all time’ lists and simply uttering the words ‘Final Fantasy’ usually evokes images of epic quests and world class polish. But not all of the games to bear the name have been worthy of praise. Some, in fact are terrible, unplayable, ugly and obnoxious games that make you wonder how Square Enix ever approved them. So for this week’s Top 10 we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel and counting down the Top 10 Worst Final Fantasy Games."

Addition of FFXIII Lightning Returns and Crystal Bearers make your list redundant.

Though I appreciate the lack of FFX-2.

And I agree with the rest.

DedicatedDark2532d ago

Wait on further thought, the inclusion FFVIII would be nice. Terrible writing, terrible story, terrible gameplay and terrible translation. And therefore a terrible game.

Any Final Fantasy made my SquareEnix. Quick and easy.

SinkingSage2532d ago (Edited 2532d ago )

Since when is After Years or Lightning Returns bad?
This article is garbage, the absolute worst FF, Final Fantasy XIII is nowhere to be seen.

Also, why include a game that doesn't even exist anymore? FFXIV 1.0 is long gone...

Lightning avatar and mad about Lightning Returns being on the list!? https://www.youtube.com/wat...

SinkingSage2530d ago

Heh, yeah, how is LR on the list but not XIII? XIII is pretty bad.

The Best And The Worst Final Fantasy Spin-Offs

Game Informer:

Big franchises often take advantage of their fame and appeal with a variety of spin-offs. The RPG juggernaut Final Fantasy is no different and throughout the years it has experimented with many different flavors. Some worked out much better than we ever expected; others were complete disasters. One thing is certain: Final Fantasy spin-offs aren’t going away.

Square Enix just launched Final Fantasy Explorers this week in North America and World of Final Fantasy is currently in development. But we didn’t want a list that just discussed ‘respectable’ games like Crisis Core or Revenant Wings or select average titles like Final Fantasy: Chocobo’s Dungeon and Final Fantasy Dimensions. What good does that do? We wanted to zoom in on the best creations, while also looking at the games that went horribly wrong.
