The longer any peticular system is in service the better devs will understand and be able to optimize for said system. 6+ yrs on ps3 and SSM knows how to play the ps3 like a fiddle. 1st party always has the best tools. I just wish they would share thier secrets with third parties so thier games didnt come out like crap half the time.

This is where Capcom should've outsourced to. Santa Monica/God Of War Team over Ninja Theory! The graphics and gameplay match Devil May Cry games of old moreso than the newbie DmC. This game is gonna be boss as well as Metal Gear Revengence! Bring it on!

@Kur0, I agree, either or would've sufficed better than NT. Their track record says it all. I believe that Santa Monica could've been up for the challenge and NOT included QTE (Quick Time Events) and kept that specific flavor that DMC has (Old Series) Platinum Games would've blown it out the water and they would've been #1 on my list of who to outsource it too and Santa Monica would've been a close second.

Games with boss fights always get me so excited. Such a classic staple, and GoW does it so well.

It's not just you.

David Jaffe once said that God of War 3 looked like a "painting come to life", and I could see where he was coming from - but this, Ascension looks absolutely gorgeous and smooth in a way that it actually looks like a painting that has been animated. Soft but vibrant colour palette. probably due to it being less apocalyptic and gloomy than GOW3.

A quality God of War single player experience, and an addictive multiplayer mode set in the GoW universe.

It is rare to get a solid SP and a solid MP for the same price, but I truly believe this game will deliver on both.

You should play it, it's actually really good. Surprised me. I didn't care about the MP either, but that didn't meant I didn't want to try it.

At the bare minimal it shows just how good you are against other GOW players, which is fun in itself.

The presentation in the God of War games especially the boss battles have always been second to none. It's my most favorite Sony franchise. I just hope the gameplay will be more in depth. God of War 3 was pretty easy to beat with the same moves when it came to fighting normal AI. I want more of a challenge like the ole Ninja Gaiden games.

Have you watched all the previous God of War's via Youtube too? It's a shame you can't play them for yourself but if watching someone else play them doesn't bother you then it's obviously not worth forking out for a PS3 just to play a handful of exclusives. I really don't think another developer will ever create a better hack 'n slash game than Sony Santa Monica. Every game they have released has been a HUGE critical and commercial success, God of War: Ascension is very much looking to be the best in the series yet! It takes the best from God of War 1, 2 and 3 and has combined them all into one game and then added an awesome multiplayer component on top! Just such amazing developers and an exemplary franchise.

I know Sony Santa Monica's team 2 are currently working on a new IP for the PS4 but I wonder what team 1 will do after God of War: Ascension? Will they immediately start developing God of War IV or maybe make Heavenly Sword 2 and bring that franchise back to life in a big way. Either way I'd be excited, more so for God of War IV obviously but I think Heavenly Sword as a franchise has huge potential if in the care of Sony Santa Monica.
