“They must hate money!” You ever have that reaction when you hear about a company not doing something? Well, Square-Enix may be the king of that saying and here are six reasons supporting that.

No type 0 to the west planned, I would ****ing buy

Lack of Focus on Versus - I'm not getting Lightning games

no KH3 - For some reason they released 3d on the 3DS which has a small install base right now

Root4108d ago (Edited 4108d ago )

So true

As you've already mentioned

No Type-0
No Versus
No KH3...just handheld crap making the story even more complicated

Then theres

No FF X HD
No FF VII remake
No FF VIII remake
No FF IX remake
No sequel to FF VIII or IX yet

Hell what about some quality replicas, the Buster Sword, the Gunblade or even the Keyblade. However I would like something we could all afford.

What about a limited Collectors Edition of Triple Triad...all the cards in mint form...something you could play with but would keep in good condition for a while.

People would be willing to pay for these things but they don't seem like they want anyones money. They'd rather get our money by forcing us to like something we don't want.

I would really love to see a remake or at least an HD release of Dragon Quest 8. We are getting 7, so why not release 8 for the Vita and PS3. You can throw in a 3DS version as well.

I am just happy we have Level 5, NIS and Atlus to cater to our needs.

PrimeLantern4108d ago

Triple Triad collector's tin? I'd be all over that.

I'd need to carry around the music from VIII to have paying in the background.

square enix extremely dumb management does extremly dumb things.

Canary4108d ago

Huh, still no comprehensive list, huh?

What is Square-Enix doing wrong? Let me count the ways.

They're focusing on projects that few people are excited about, like iOS ports of old DS games and Final Fantasy XIII episodes, while ignoring many ways to make -tons- of money off of content they've ALREADY produced. Let's list 'em out:

1. No Western localization of Final Fantasy Type-0
2. No localization of Bravely Default
3. No localization of FFVII Compilation titles
4. No Dragon Quest titles available digitally
5. Many Final Fantasy titles (GBA) not available digitally
6. No Star Ocean titles available digitally.
7. No localization of Kingdom Hearts HD
8. Abandonment of re-making Final Fantasy titles in favor of porting one of the latest remakes (FFIV) over and over and over.

im still baffled by the decision to make a FFX hd remake. In my opinion it was the first let down of many in the FF universe. first linear game, no world map, no real reason to explore. way to easy, and dumb story line. they need to split and go back to their own companies and give up on this failed merger. give me a REAL FF, please

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle7d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger7d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag7d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

jznrpg11d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
