The Underdogs Of 2012: Top Ten Games You Didn't Buy

Dealspwn.com takes a look at ten of 2012's most overlooked underdogs that deserved more attention and sales.

Dealspwn writes: "ZombiU practically fell off the software charts after the Wii U launched, not helped by supply problems and seriously awful advertising. More to the point, though, Ubisoft's brave decision to focus on pure Survival Horror failed to resonate with many gamers and critics, leading to plenty of mixed reviews.

Give it half a chance, and you'll love how expertly this miserable adventure grinds you through the wringer, spitting you out emotionally numb and trembling. If you've been moaning about the lack of survival horror games these days, you might find that ZombiU gives you the fear you've been craving."

Dragons Dogma and Dark Siders 2 are the only games on there even worth mentioning in my opinion. I believe those two games sold well over a million apiece though.

No disrespect intended (your opinion is just as valid as mine), but singling out the two big-budget games is part of the reason why so many amazing smaller title slip through the cracks.

Not sure how Vita is a game. But still, ^%&$ you. Vita's amazing and has a ton of games for it's first year. I'm not even gonna get into this argument 'cause I'm so tired of uninformed people fighting me with no knowledge whatsoever and thinking they're right.

Vita's amazing. I'm right. You're wrong.

specsmatter4116d ago

I agree i love my lil beast. Some games on there imo decimate the competition and just cant be compared.

KangarooSam4116d ago

I may as well start this before someone else does.

My 3DS library: two games.

My Vita library: probably around fifteen.

I have gotten way more play time out of my Vita. 3DS is nice but it doesn't have an OLED touchscreen, great music app, Facebook, trophies, etc.

Vita will always win in terms of power as well as games in my opinion, Nintendo fanboys/Sony haters need to realize that.

I'm sick of the whole Vita debate as well. Its a capable device with some great games but the majority will never want or own one. Why, because there are other more relevant devices for the masses. Of course I don't expect Vita owners to understand that.

specsmatter4114d ago

yes we understand that basically their are cheaper devices that are also handhelds. Its the same situation ps3 was in a higher price tag leading to less sales than the xbox but when price dropped to 350 everyone decided to jump on board and not hate anymore.
There is nothing hard to understand. The majority of sales attributed to 3ds are adults buying them for their children, not thmeselves. Mothers and fathers will gladly buy them a handheld that costs less than then the competition, but when vita eventually drops it will be just like the ps3 situation.

Please dont say the majority dont want one thats not the case. Many ppl just are not willing to spend so much. Thats like saying the majority didnt want a ps3 lol Not true they just didnt want a ps3 at 600 sales after price drop shows this to be true.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
