Timed Exclusive Dead Space 3 Demo Hits Xbox 360 Today

A quick reminder that if you signed up for the Dead Space 3 demo you should, this afternoon, get an email with a code in it. That’s also assuming you’ve got an Xbox 360 (the demo is timed exclusive) and an Origin account, as you’ll need both.

The demo is expected to roll out to the rest of the world (well, PlayStation 3 owners anyway) next week. Hopefully this exclusive window doesn’t mean that there’s a gulf in the quality of the game for other platforms.

The demo is a 2 GB download.

The demo is so awsome.Love the graphics and it feels like a new and fresh outlook on the series.Cant wait.Just remember its through the code only not in the demo store.

I'm not saying the game won't be good. Although I have my doubts unfortunately. But going through EA conundrum to play it a week or two early doesn't sound like a good time.

The demo give me one feeling...the same feeling that I got when I tried the RE6 feeling for the first time....and it's not a good feeling

Shame this franchise had to go down so fast, hopefully it will die off before it becomes as bad as RE

I only played the single player demo on normal but I don't really know if I like it or not. It's also the exact demo of the first gameplay they showed from e3.

I thought the demo was really, really easy. I don't know if the main game is the same difficulty though. The boss would seriously just run around, not at you, and attack every 30 seconds or so. This is not like the brutes or enemies from past games that just ran at you until they killed you or you killed them. The human enemies never hit me with one bullet but normal may be too easy I guess. I might replay it on harder difficulties to see it it's just easier in general since I beat past Dead Space games on their hardest difficulties.

The weapon and suit customization and upgrades also felt very overly complicated to me with multiple types of resources needed. However, machine guns aren't really that big of deal imo since they would take almost a whole clip to kill one normal necromorph. I can also live with universal ammo.

It takes you out of control of your character more then past games which is very annoying too.

It wasn't nearly the same departure as RE6 was to past RE games. However, it does not feel like the natural evolution of the series either. It feels more like a spin off then anything to me.

kingmushroom4117d ago

Nice unnecessary apostrophes.

HarryMasonHerpderp4117d ago

Are Microsoft seriously still doing this?
Anyway looking forward to trying the demo out.

testerg354117d ago

But if Sony does it? Then what?

HarryMasonHerpderp4117d ago (Edited 4117d ago )

Timed exclusivity sucks whatever the console.

I think the horror elements were exclusive to the older games because Dead Space 3 doesn't have it. It's just a mediocre run & gun shooter now. I'll have no problem skipping this (especially since Sly Cooper 4 releases on the same day).

Ron_Danger4117d ago

If you've got a vita when you play Sly 4, you can hold it up to your tv like an x-ray machine and search for hidden treasures... It looks awesome!!

Timed exclusive demo, so as a 360 owner I can now look to demos early? I think timed DLC is bad enough, if they are going for exclusive... MS should keep it exclusive like the ps3 did with far cry 3 and assassin creed, and not for a timed demo, what a wasted chance

Godchild10204117d ago

I wonder if Sony pays more money to get exclusive content that will stay exclusive or is it Microsoft that pays more money for content that is exclusive for a limited amount of time. Not a troll comment, just curious.

KrisButtar4116d ago

I know your not trolling as I've seen your comments on others topics and usually agree with you

The way I have been looking at it is sony pays for the exclusive say x dollars but MS only seems to pay half of x dollars cause it is timed and not exclusive. To be honest I don't remember any exclusive DLC for the box recently just for the ps.

I think if MS is going to fork out money for timed Exclusives why not throw the extra amount in to have it as a box exclusive. Why get things half done.

I would personally think that the prices for exclusives would be the same for either company, it's just a first come first serve. Likely

Why Dead Space 3 Will Be the Hardest to Remake

If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.

Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.

myfathersbastard414d ago

Yeah I agree. Make a dead space 3, but have an original story/setting. They’ve proven they can do the game justice, and I think they could evolve 2 in a good direction, keeping a similar tone. I’d love s Dead Space 2 and 3 though. The remake was fantastic. Top tier remake, up there with RE2.

jznrpg414d ago

Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.

Ninver414d ago

It's the worst in the series.

Dead Space 3, A Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Kyle Nicol:

"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?

Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."

They need to seriously continue this ip with a new entry. Even if it's just another movie I don't care I love everything about this game.
