“Tales of” Fans Campaign For Tales of Vesperia PS3 Port and Tales of Hearts R Vita Localization

PS Euphoria writes: Previously, the “Tales of” community spotted a note from Sony which included Tales of Vesperia on their PlayStation Plus related survey and now they are campaigning for the games to be localized in a similar way to how Operation Rainfall was conducted, which ended up with the localization of The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii. This group for “Tales of” fans, however, is called Mission Atelier and throughout the past few hours, they have hit up Namco Bandai’s Facebook page with comments and posts.

Good bring them to North America

Godchild10204112d ago (Edited 4112d ago )

I made my comment and will do so everyday until they announce they are coming to North America and Europe.

Ranma14112d ago (Edited 4112d ago )

I already played ToV on my X360. suckers !!!

Its a great game. I just wish it didnt give me the option to switch to easy when I want, because its tempting to do so and sometimes takes away from the experience.

Godchild10204112d ago

I did too! But I will always double dip when it comes to a Tales of game. Especially when it comes down to seeing more localizations of the games.

NewMonday4112d ago

ToV is my personal favorite

ToGraces is the best in handling difficulty, it incites you to play on hard by giving you more exp and loot, i kept doing this till I unlocked the max setting, and it is not hard if you get the groove of the combat, Ii only set it back to hard for some boss battles.

The Japanese PS3 version was pretty good, it had more things in it. I'd love to play this game in English.

The extra stuff should've came to the Xbox 360 as DLC.

RmanX10004112d ago

Havent we been very vocal about Vesperia PS3 already?! XD

chrispseuphoria4112d ago (Edited 4112d ago )

As long as we're still vocal, Namco-Bandai will know that there's a recurring interest in the game.

Perjoss4112d ago (Edited 4112d ago )

Didn't know this was an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Edit: never mind, there is a Japanese version of the game on PS3, my mistake.

CLOUD19834112d ago

Fcking M$ ruin the JRPG scene at PlayStation this generation with their dirty money.. & for what? to buy exclusivity no1 or almost no1 care about, what's the point to release this game on a console when 90%+ of the ppl who own the console play mostly shooters & don't give a fck about JRPGs, such a shame for JRPG fans who own a PS3 & cant play it.

AznGaara4112d ago

It's okay we still got exclusives like Valkyira Chronicles, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Disgaea 3 & 4 and Demons Souls. With Ni no Kuni, Disgaea D2, The Witch and the Hundred Knights and Xilia we still have some good jrpgs for 2013.

Oh and Versus 13 is still a Ps3 exclusive... Unless MS uses that "dirty money" to make that multiplatform too.

Inception4112d ago

Relax cloud. Just like AznGaara said, PS3 gamers still had ton's of JRPG exclusives to play ^^

@AznGaara
Don't forget Atelier Ayesha, The God and Fate Revolution Paradox (also from Disgaea team), Legend of Heroes: Nayuta no Kiseki, Dragon's Crown, and more.

HarryMasonHerpderp4112d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon would of done a lot better if they were originally on the PS3.
Would love to have ports of them as I hate playing them on my Xbox because its too noisy and I have to turn my TV up pretty loud (not even joking).

FarEastOrient4112d ago

We're still waiting for The Last Remnant to come to the PS3 in Japan. Pretty much hopeless by now

People should give up about Tales of Vesperia on PS3. It's not coming here. It's been released 3 years ago and they clearly said a few times that they won,t bring it over.

Godchild10204112d ago

Things change. We got Tales of Graces F and that came out on the Wii in 2009 and the PS3 in 2010 in Japan. And Xillia was released in 2011 and we are seeing that some time this year.

Darth Stewie4112d ago

Microsoft claimed the only way to get the complete Mass Effect experience on consoles would only be on the 360 but yet 5yrs later ME1 came to the PS3. So you never know. Besides unlike ME1 Tales of Vesperia is an already complete PS3 game that just needs localization.

I really enjoyed this article, it was a good read. This quote gave me a chuckle, because it's true!:

"Pretty much every JRPG involves the player’s characters going from barely being able to lift a sword to killing God"

indysurfn1384d ago

LOL...exaggeration but I get your just making a point. No one can Kill God. Don't drink Satan's cool-aide he is just trying to recruit you (backwards recruit)

Tross1384d ago

He probably only has the grape kind anyways. All the folk up in heaven surely hog all the good flavours.

BrainSyphoned1385d ago

Final Fantasy 15 the ultimate delayed game with delayed story dlc shoveled in at the last second. Doesn’t ring the gratifying bell when I see that stupid car at all. Article+thumbnail is like describing a 5star meal while watching your cat clean its backside.

More specifically I would say JRPGs are progressive gratification. Basically like listening to prog music vs anything else which imo is the best. Even if a JRPG is all about the journey, generally speaking JRPGs keep getting better as opposed to other games which usually have their high points come in either too soon, or the best parts just aren't nearly as impactful.

indysurfn1384d ago

Also don't forget the direct comparison that the old Square Enix president made. He said Western players like TWITCH games and eastern players love Cerebral games. Now it was taken as a racist slam. But he meant it as one of the reasons outside of development time and cost return on investment(ROI). But he had a true point people here are TRAINED to like instant stuff. And people there are trained to like delayed over the top stuff. It is not a intelligence slam. I'm glad I LOVE the later gratification! Because it is way better!

iofhua21384d ago

I like JRPG's for the big anime tiddies.

indysurfn1384d ago

lol.....I stand corrected!

The Tales games may be less recognizable than the Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games, but that doesn't mean that they aren't worth playing!

I’ve been hooked on the series ever since playing Tales of Xillia

jznrpg1720d ago

I hope they remaster or port a lot of the older games of the series to PS4/PS5

Immagaiden1720d ago

“Tales series is considered one of the top three Japanese RPG series next to RPG giants like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.”

How you gonna talk about the top three JRPG franchises and not mention Pokémon, the top selling series in the genre?

This is how the top JRPG series stack up

1. Pokémon - 340M
2. Final Fantasy - 144M
3. Dragon Quest - 78M
4. Monster Hunter - 52M
5. Kingdom Hearts - 30M
6. Souls - 25M
7. Tales of - 20M

Rating Each of the Vita's Localization Studios

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "What I aim to examine in this article is the output of each of the major localization companies, in terms of what they released, what they chose not to release (including when they localized titles for other platforms but skipped the Vita version), as well as some brief commentary on the quality of their translations, before providing an overall rating on their support (outstanding -> amazing – > good -> solid -> poor).

A large part of the reason I love Vita so much is thanks to its brilliant selection of Japanese games and that’s really what I want to celebrate here, but also lament some of the missed opportunities we had along the way."
