ValveTime.net recently released information about a supposed cancelled expansion to Half-life 2.
Sebastien Scieux, formally of Arkane Studios reportedly leaked information pertaining to a cancelled expansion to the Half-life franchise, entitled “”Return to Ravenholm”.
Fan projects Team Fortress: Source 2 and Portal 64 have shut down after Valve intervened in their development.
First they open Steam up to more AI, now they are shutting down fan projects when at one time they used to support or even give the fans jobs.
Wonder what's going on with Valve at the minute.
There's potential that Valve had already planned to bring Source 2 to TF2 officially after Counter Strike 2. It's been getting some renewed attention lately.
You got Nintendo to thank for Portal64 being taken down. As for TF2, most likely it's due to the probability of Valve working on a source 2 port themselves. It's sucks but Nintendo are the biggest pricks in the business and not letting this drag out into a huge court drama is the best decision.
Valve has updated its stance on AI games on the Steam storefront, allowing creators to publish AI-created games.
Hell no. I want games that have been made by creative minds who have a passion for their craft, not a bot with a penchant for plagiarism.
So instead of paying for an engine and assets to create a game they are paying for an engine and assets to create a game.
Marvel's Blade is being developed using Void Engine, suggested a new job listing by a Senior Lighting Artist working on the entry.
I wonder how many people who didn't buy Dishonored 2 or Deathloop are going to complain about Arkane making a Marvel game instead of working on an original IP.
well im not expecting this to be a graphical power house, especially based of what little we know it looks like it going be very stylised.
Either way, please let this be good!!!!! Give us the Blade/Wesley snipes game we always wanted!!
im just glad a blade game is coming seeing as the movie reboot is in shambles atm.
the first blade movie to this day is still my favourite marvel movie
What a coincidence! It's also being developed for the console everyone is aVoiding.
I was hoping the game was going to look photo realistic like a UE5 game, however, it seems the visuals will likely look like Death Loop. The performance of this engine is significantly better than UE5 so hopefully the gameplay will be fun.
The artstyle of the characters look like many will be top heavy with little skinny legs and feet.
Others look like they may have the look of that avengers cartoon where they were short but had big hands and feet, let’s hope it’s not that, always hated that look.
I hope the game is dark and the vampires employ a blink teleport style similar to how you used one of your powers in Dishonored. Lots of gun action with silver stakes and holy water, crosses and hand to hand combat.
I highly doubt this.
HL3 (or whatever you want to call it) has most likely been in development (to some degree) since Ep.2, and the only info released was like 2 concept pieces when it was announced and a couple of outdated concepts more recently. Aside from that NOTHING. Not even a confirmation that its in production or cancelled.
Having said that, I find it extremely hard to believe that anything Half Life was officially being worked on 6 years ago by a 3rd party dev, and no one knew about it.
fuck me
Oh god if someone other than Valve developes any of the next Half Life's which I have pretty much given all hope on.. I will lose it.
Pisses me off enough we have been waiting around this long for Half Life 3 ... no just release Portal but never anymore Half Life episodes or any news about it ever coming back. It's been way too long it's almost like Valve completely gave up the idea altogether.
I don't understand how such a huge game can just fade off into the distance like it has. Half Life and Half Life 2 are still one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had with playing a game.
Half life 3 will be out on next gen consoles, PC and steam box you wait and see. As soon as Microsoft and Sony reveal their new machines I expect an announcement from valve to follow shortly after. Maybe at e3.
There's no way a franchise as big as half life won't get a new game but I think they were waiting for new tech to wow us with like they did with the physics of the gravity gun in half life 2.
