Dont understand the hate for this game. Just because they changed his look? Lol, you people are acting like spoiled whiny children! I enjoyed the gameplay on the demo and have played all dmc games in the past.

You babies havent even played the game yet, and already slamming it. Havent seen one bad review yet. Its gonna be great! Personally, i enjoyed Enslaved and Heavenly Sword. Will be fully supporting this game and cant wait till it comes out! THIS IS A DMC GAME!!!

Again, it is not just about the looks. (for the 700'th time I post this)

The gameplay is WAY to easy, and broken. Staying in the air is no longer any kind of challenge, and the combo's are no longer free form, in the past stringing a combo together took time, now you can get long combos just by tapping triangle allot.

Here are a few things I recorded to show some of the problems.

Boss fight

Combo meter doesn't drop anymore, making it so once you get a SSS it is easy to keep it, and the Demon Dodge is way overpowered.

Also, they put it in NT's hand because of the story, which did not turn out right at all, I won't spoil anything here. But it just doesn't get very interesting at all. Fighting Bill O' Reilly?

The punk look just doesn't suit DMC, which has always been about Gothic environments such as castles and ect. Minus DMC2 which is already hated by the fans, and seems to be where NT took all their idea's from.

Well, im a DMC fan and i enjoyed it. I mean, it just sounds like you are nitpicking here and making excuses. I am about the Gothic environments as well, but comon this takes place in a different world. The city is in ruins and tore up, The world is very detailed with alot going on in it.

Whats wrong with a little change of scenery every once in awhile? You want the same thing over and over? I am hearing its possibly one of the best DMC games to date! Give it a chance first and at least play the game. Youre gonna buy it anyways, so why bitch about it?

NovusTerminus4113d ago

No, I am not buying this game, ever, You can check my trophy list if you wish.

I am not as against the environment shift, DMC2 used a city, and while it kind stuck out, but I can deal but still is a jarring shift for the game, turning a game about demon cults to a CEO demanding money from the president, trying to control the world through debt and demon soda.

And no, the gameplay complains are not nitpicking, they are very valid issues, I played the demo, and while a good NEW I.P, it fails to be any kind of DMC game.

I think they should give Zelda to a western studio, turn it more punk and make Link a complete dickhead who is not even likable. Make him someone who is against all forms of rulers just because he wants to rebel, change the gameplay to be more brain dead, make Gannon and evil banker trying to take over Hyrule by forcing the crown into debt.

Then maybe someone would understand WHY DMC fans are against this game.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

Friendlygamer54m ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
